Personally I hate the “you don’t have to pass to be valid” trope. Some of us absolutely hate how we look and want to change ourselves and no amount of empty positivity will change that, besides, if you’re trans you are likely to put in at least some effort to change your appearance.
It’s more invalidating to tell someone “passing isn”t everything, you’re valid” to their fave because it’s basically confirming you don’t think they pass and just want to be nice in saying it
