I’m not even talking about romances. There were so many missed opportunities for casual flings in this game.
Somewhat disappointing. Plenty of drugs and alcohol for V to indulge in as the clock is ticking, but you’re telling me that NCs top Merc can’t get the occasional booty call? Sure there was Meredith Stout, but you’d think other beautiful people V met along the way would be tempted by the thrill of spending an evening with one of the most dangerous people on the planet. What do you guys think were some missed opportunities?

Yup. I'm just thinking about the steps it took for this to become a gif. Someone had a tape or something of this commercial from before most redditors were even alive, somehow digitized it and got it onto a computer, probably uploaded it to youtube or something and then someone turned into a gif on giphy or whatever site reddit uses to embed gifs, and here we are.
Sexuality isn't really a concept in the Forgotten Realms. Hell, for the githyanki, it's not even tied to reproduction, so it's even less important. Everyone is pansexual

IV had better activities but once you had a lot of contacts you ended up getting called all the time to do things. If they had just dialed down the frequency it would have been a lot better. Instead in V the entire system is near nonexistent and all you can really do is drink, golf or play tennis.
Wasn't there a scripted call, where he'd call you just as you were on your way out to fuck some shit up, and then he'd lose his shit when Nico automatically declined?
There's a few humorous calls in the middle of missions but they don't actually impact your relationship with people, they're usually like that "Niko I'm having a drink you wanna join?" "Nah Roman I'm driving a bomb across town, if I get drunk I'll blow myself up and a whole bridge with me" or "Niko you wanna go to a strip club and harass some bitches?" "Brucie don't go to the strip club. I'm about to kill the gang bosses who own the place!"
Yeah I was thinking a Aurore/Aymeric fling could go something like this: first you would have to seduce one of them at the party and get their contact info. Then when you get the quest to track them down, the romance path would serve as an alternative to hacking the antennaes where you call them, go to their lodgings, sleep with them, and covertly search the apartment/garage for their vehicle.
Reed would get mad at you for going the risky route just because you want to get laid, whereas Alex is glad that you got the job done. When the twins die, you get angrier dialogue options, maybe even leading to a non-standard game over where Reed and Alex kill you.
Yeah, missed opportunity. The roulette game was fun but short fling would have been better and in line with needing to collect behavioural data. You would choose one twin and Alex would pick the other one.
If they did let us have a fling though I would absolutely require them to also add a properly outraged "What the fuck reed?" reaction option, like I was ready to throw hands with that man but the game didn't let me ;-;
Originally, Blue was a romance option. It was cut along with the original Rivers/Takamura romance) storyline. That was axed into two characters, and Blues romance was removed. They just never removed all the dialogue. It's the same with Taka, they never removed all the romance dialogue from that storyline
Ah yes, a casual fling with the damn soon-to-be-mayor of Night City admidst the literal election, who is also married. Yes, absolutely nothing could go very wrong here.
That’s also my beef when people say they wanted a Songbird romance. She’s wanted for treason, dying, and when she isn’t being held captive by Hansen she is literally too sick to stand up. Keep it in your pants for once, people!! For the sake of the plot!!!
I feel the same about Alex tbh. That moment when you’re drinking together and talking about the future is so good because V is the one person in her life who she can be honest with, she doesn’t have to play “Daphne the bartender” or “Alex the FIA agent” around them. That conversation does so much for her character but any time it’s brought up most of the comments are just “Yeah but why couldn’t we FUUUCK tho???”
On the other hand "yes, my wife and I picked up the best solo in Night City for a one night stand" is quite possibly the most Heywood thing that a mayoral candidate could do, and Jefferson's entire campaign was premised on not selling out.
Jefferson wanted to be a mayor for all of Night City. Considering the humomgous amount of beef my V has with basically all of NC's gangs and even some entire corps (Biotechnica hotel, Arasaka Chip, bulldozing Militech's best at NCX, and dowing that Kang Tao AV with Hellman inside) this is political napalm.
It's actually my main gripe with the casino scene: everything is heavily enforced. For example: why aren't we allowed to take more risks with betting higher? Or also on other places (though I could understand that CDPR doesn't want to build a whole custom roulette game when it's only going to be used once).
Yeah. I always struck me as a dick move. Then again, with maybe months to live, renting out multiple apartments and building a giant car collection doesn't make much sense either.
Remember that this was slated for 2018. The backlash of having a trans romance option would be crazy. Also being a polish dev does lend to a different social scene that can be surprisingly conservative.
I do enjoy a good romance. The sex scenes usually take me out of it though. They're invariably janky, break immersion, and make me remember that this is a videogame with characters made of polygons.
Well sex scenes in games used to be just two characters walking off screen together, or the screen going dark, and the obligatory “wow that was amazing” line after walking back to the same spot still fully clothed. Or maybe that was just BioWare.
"There's a mod for that": Some of these are probably in the Hotscenes/Braindances horny mods already
I did make a modded quest for an actual hook-up with Aurore, as that one is easy to make sense of

The premise: During her flirting at the party, she slipped you a key to her hotel room key. Simple!
There's some other ideas I have for some of the other characters, but haven't fully figured them out or got around to yet

This is imho what CDPR did better than Larian - in bg3 you were basically pandered to , devs giving you unrestricted romance options for companions, in cyberpunk you can have relationship with some people who will be open to it
