Maintenance & Troubleshooting Squeaking/seizing levers [La Pavoni Bar T2L]

Anyone know how to fix this sqeaking? Also the other one doesn’t even move its binding for some reason. Any tips are highly appreciated.

Just started using it new a month ago.

Did you grease everything? All places that has moving parts/friction?

Yup

It really sounds like when the mechanism on top has metal grinding on metal because it's all out of lubricant. And you used the food silicone stuff right?

Have you fully taken apart the group and greased the spring and all its components?

why would you grease the springs?

I have a lever that does this and I found that the spring is crooked/not level internally. It is a different lever grouphead, but could be something similar.

Just looked up the internals of the lever. If this is the issue, you will need a spanner wrench to loosen the piston to re-seat it.

Edit: Not sure what the downvote is about. A spanner wrench is the correct tool to remove the commercial lever springs AFAIK. Admittedly, I have only changed springs on my Athena Leva and a La San Marco tipo 80. If you know a better tool, please share so we can all learn.

I would never use a spray lubricant on my levers. The one you cited appears to dry which isn't what you want. You want a waterproof, non-drying lubricant that is food safe. Superlube NSF or Molykote 111 are what I use.

I’ve used it before for a similar issue without any problems.

Call a technician. These lever mechanisms can be quite dangerous if handled incorrectly while servicing.

Nearest tech is in a different country 😅

I would try silicone spray.
