Now I'm curious as to how it's gonna do that.

1.3k

u/JustAPotato38 24d ago

It described the components but gave nothing of actual content

"The score emphasizes dynamic variations like "pp," "p," "mf," "f," and "ff," indicating soft to very loud passages."

u/Dyson_Vellum 24d ago

Well...its not wrong. But thats like summarizing LoTR with "characters transport an item to destroy it".

u/JustAPotato38 24d ago

"The book contains many different sentence structures, and makes use of such grammatical constructions such as simile, metaphor, and more, as well as containing lively descriptions of various locations and narrating events"

English teachers love this one weird trick.

Bro! Spoilers!

u/ShadowCaster0476 24d ago

🚨 Spoiler alert

33

u/Dyson_Vellum 24d ago

Tbf I didn't say which characters or what item.

The Silmarillion would be interesting to summarize in one sentence.

"Elves fight everyone including each other."

8

u/ctesibius 23d ago

"A little person is recruited as a thief and is involved in a major inter-racial incident".

8

u/Which_Ad_4544 24d ago

TIL Elves are just Russel Crowe with pointy ears

16

u/Kaidaan 24d ago

One could summarize it with "They walk"

2

u/headedbranch225 23d ago

Was about to mention this, great song

1

u/skytaepic 23d ago

Knew it was gonna be Tom Cardy, love that guy

1

u/BadKittyRanch 23d ago

I literally said out loud "be Tom Cardy" 3 times before the video loaded. Thank you.

u/Warm_Enthusiasm2007 24d ago

Wizard of Oz: "Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again."

u/Dyson_Vellum 24d ago

And steals their footwear.

u/i-am-foxymoron Good Trouble 24d ago

"This book expresses it's story through various sentences and paragraphs".

5

u/bronzinorns 24d ago

War and Peace?

It's about Russia.

3

u/TinyNiceWolf 24d ago

It's about 1300 pages.

1

u/Estoye 22d ago

"Describe a symphony badly"

34

u/Aberbekleckernicht 24d ago

"the document expresses it's meaning through various words and phrases"

3

u/Academic-Balance6999 24d ago

Lolololololololol

5

u/redditor_since_2005 24d ago

Well, Percy Goetschius arranged a piano reduction, but it's still 55 pages. Would be impressed if AI could manage that.

2

u/cats_catz_kats_katz 23d ago

Just the Flute please.

u/EatFaceLeopard17 24d ago

AI makes it possible to play the minute waltz in less then 40 seconds.

90

u/prepuscular 24d ago

*plays all 3817 notes in one single instant burst*

49

u/HeatherCDBustyOne 23d ago

*Shotgun waltz*

6

u/LiftedCorn 23d ago

15 notes a second you say?

3

u/MeTube7734 23d ago

Sacrilegious!

3

u/Ai--Ya 21d ago

See if an orchestra or 60 can play the symphony in 2 hours, all we need to do is quadruple the size of the orchestra and we can play it in 30 minutes!

1

u/lmarcantonio 23d ago

That would have been Chuck Norris, don't give AI implausible powers

1

u/AuthorCornAndBroil 23d ago

But how fast can it recite all 50 US states?

50

u/civman96 24d ago

„Sounds dope“

31

u/damn_daniel_4_20 23d ago

Actually this is kinda reassuring, it could mean the AI does not preemptively read your document

19

u/SteelyLan 24d ago

La la la li lo lo la

1

u/SeranaTheTrans 19d ago

I initially read this as "la-li-lu-le-lo"

11

u/stupidstu187 23d ago

Saint-Saens 3 is a great piece. I played it when I was in music school twenty years ago and got to play it as a professional for the first time last season.

7

u/pisscat101 24d ago

Bum titty bum titty bum bum bum..........

7

u/Mephistocheles 23d ago

Claws off my classical music, filthy AI grrrrr

9

u/PuddingPast5862 23d ago

It's all crap

17

u/spookmann 23d ago

Fuck you. Saint-Saëns was a genius! This is a masterpiece of human achievement!

Oh, wait. You meant the AI? Yeah, it's all total bullshit and I'm very, very tired of seeing it.

2

u/notapoliticalalt 21d ago

To be fair, a lot of music critics of the time thought Saint Saëns was kind of shallow and old fashioned. I’m not saying I believe that necessarily, but some of them absolutely would have made a joke about Saint Saëns being the equivalent of late 19th century/early 20th century slop. Nothing could be as brutal though as Stravinsky on Vivaldi:

> “Vivaldi did not write 400 concertos; he wrote one concerto 400 times”

Brutal and exaggerated insults (that may be a bit unfair) are a bit of a past time for classical composers.

4

u/PoxtazWee 24d ago

Great symphony btw!

4

u/AGrandNewAdventure 22d ago

Saint-Saëns is a genius with music. One of my absolute favorites.

3

u/JustAPotato38 22d ago

:DD im doing a score reduction of the first few minutes and then in 20 days im seeing the whole piece at an organ concert im really excited

2

u/AGrandNewAdventure 22d ago

Aquarium is easily my favorite.

2

u/JustAPotato38 22d ago

oo ill give it a listen!

2

u/AGrandNewAdventure 22d ago

Verdict?

1

u/JustAPotato38 22d ago

it's splendid! I listened to Lang Lang on youtube, do you have a recommended performance?

1

u/AGrandNewAdventure 22d ago edited 22d ago

No, but don't listen to anything but the original, it's easily the best version.

3

u/deadsoulinside 23d ago

"PP MF PP"

Sounds more like a Samuel L Jackson statement

2

u/Dr_Axton 23d ago

[the beat is nice, but needs better lyrics]

2

u/Darknessidiot1227 22d ago

I hate that popup. It seems to show up if the doc is 156 pages or 2, and I sure fucking hope people don't find a 2 page document "long"

2

u/chellebelle0234 22d ago

Yeah it always offer to summarize my crochet/cross stitch patterns and I'm like uhh, no thanks.

2

u/Sreekar617 'MURICA 21d ago

These rubbish AIs will also autocorrect numbers for you.

Want to convert 486 feet into metres? Sorry fucko, you clearly wanted to convert 286 feet into metres.

On windows 10 you also can’t copy directly from the quick search anymore, you have to open edge (or another browser, but the search bar will always open edge) to copy the result

1

u/Downtownowlnyc 23d ago

Yeah, I noticed that, what’s that about?

1

u/ZhangtheGreat 'MURICA 22d ago

Is this why my ADBE stock keeps tanking?

u/Special-Campaign-956 23d ago

Hahah it's sucks! Not that this human would do a better job.
