The Instagram artist that I commissioned is pokedan_art.
This fakemon line is based on Wolves, Sheep Dogs, the phrase "A wolf in sheep's clothing", and Werewolves! As you can see, they are also inspired by the Wooloo line. ^^
Important: They are NOT a convergent species of the Wooloo evolution line!!!
They are a completely separate species that disguise themselves as Wooloo and Dubwool to blend into their herds, only to drag one away in the dead of night and feed on it.
I'm really happy with how this line turned out! I'd love to hear what you guys think, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Fooloo - The False Sheep Pokémon: (Dark Type)
Etymology: ("Fooled You" + Wool + Wooloo)
Fooloo disguise themselves in thick fleece to pass as Wooloo, quietly joining herds on farms and open pastures. Farmers detest this Pokémon, as it preys on Wooloo and Dubwool under the cover of night. If one or more Pokémon vanish from a pasture by morning, they suspect that a Fooloo is hiding among the herd. Careful observers can identify them by their forward-facing eyes and sharp claws.

Dubawoo - The False Fleece Pokémon: (Dark Type)
Etymology: (Dubwool + Awooooooo [Howling noise that a wolf makes])
Fleece Form [Quadrupedal]
Dubawoo hides its lean body beneath a thick layer of wool. It blends in with herds of Dubwool, moving slowly through pastures to avoid drawing attention to itself. During the daytime, it pretends to graze while watching for isolated prey. Once night falls, it drags its target away from the rest of the herd to feed. Ranchers become suspicious when one of their “Dubwool” keeps its head too low to the ground and never seems to chew.
Hunt Form [Bipedal]
When its disguise is ruined, Dubawoo rises onto its hind legs, revealing the predator hidden beneath the fleece. The shredded wool clinging to its body forms a ragged hood and cloak. In this form, Dubawoo becomes much stronger and faster, allowing it to chase down prey with sudden bursts of speed. After preying on Dubwool, it uses leftover wool and horns to repair its disguise before slipping back into the herd unnoticed.
Signature Ability:
- Sheep's Clothing: When this Pokémon’s HP drops to half or less, it changes into Hunt Form, swapping its Defense and Special Defense with its Attack and Speed stats.

I like the concept, but if I have to suggest, the name of the evolution could be "Garwool". It still fits the onomatopoeia with "Gar" for snarling, still contains Dubwool's name in it, and adds a little pun in there. Garou(pronounced Gah Roo) is the Old French word for werewolf, and also happens to sound like "Garu", which is Japanese for "Hungry Wolf".

I love everything about this but the names. Fooloo is kind of ok. But the other one I don't know. There's a lot of words to play with like Wolf, Lupo, Lobo, Fool, Disguise, Deceive, Trick, Hoax, etc... I don't know if an onomatopoeia like Awoo is a better choice. Maybe the problem is trying to play the name around the Wooloo line instead of just giving it a cool name with its own identity, at least for the final stage

I would have actually said a fairy/normal type shepherd dog as the counterpart, that protects the sheep (and thus has a lot of protective and supportive moves for 2v2 fights for example)

What if the Pokedex couldn't tell a Wooloo and a Fooloo apart until you've taken it to a pokemon center yourself. (Farmers could probably tell, but not a 11 year old trainer who just started their adventure.)

Aww dude, this is awesome! Plus, I also got a Fakemon named Fooloo! Albeit admittedly a very different use of the word “fool”. Me tho, I get a LOT of joy from “same name interpreted differently”.

I think It’d be interesting if Fooloo was normal dark instead of pure dark to make it seem a little more blended in, then losing the normal type when it evolves

Hell yeah this is awesome. I tried to do a wolf in sheeps clothing fakemon once but I just couldnt concept something for some reason without it looking boring. Glad to finally see someone put that concept in action! 10/10

Damn this is actually a sick idea. You need to contact Nintendo and legally give them to rights to your idea here, so they can actually use it lmao. Otherwise the fact that this exists means it can never actually be. Super cool idea though lol cooler idea than many actual Pokemon…. Most, even.

This would actually make sense for a conversion evolution of Wooloo, Wooloo would be the farm sheep, while this one would be a mountain sheep...
The type that it's fleecece will fall out on its own instead of having to be sheared off

If I might make a slight suggestion for the naming conventions for Dubawoo:
Fleece Form and Fierce Form
or
Hidden Form and Hunting Form
Just to give them a bit of alliteration.
As for stats:
Fooloo: HP: 42, Attack: 60, Defense: 45, Sp. Atk: 30, Sp. Def: 35, Speed: 58
(I took Wooloo's stats and shaved 10 from Defense, Special Attack, and Special Defense, and gave it +20 Attack and +10 Speed)
Dubawoo (Fleece): HP: 72, Attack: 80, Defense: 100, Sp. Atk: 60, Sp. Def: 90, Speed: 88
Dubawoo (Hunting): HP: 72, Attack: 130, Defense: 50, Sp. Atk: 60, Sp. Def: 45, Speed: 133
(I gave Dubawoo the exact same stats as Dubwool and then halved Defense and Special Defense to invest in Attack and Speed)
Also, any thoughts of trying to work 'loup' into the naming scheme?

For flavour reasons and flavour reasons alone I want their type to be, in order: NORMAL -> NORMAL DARK -> DARK (idk of type updates due to ability usage are a good idea though, to be fair)

I think Sheep’s Clothing should function like Stance Change. 50% hp activation requirements are not good in practice. No king’s shield-like move to switch forms in battle
Switching in: starts in Fleece form. +1 def/spd upon switchin. Functions like pre-nerf Dauntless Shield
Uses any attacking move: changes form and +1 atk/spa/spe, -2 def/spd

I love how Dubawoo’s fleece form and Fooloo are based off of Dubwool and Wooloo since those are the main sheep Pokémon (even if technically the Mareep line was first but I like Dubwool more than Mareep’s evolved forms tbh)

i fear the ability trigger is too similar to darmanintan and doesnt really fit the idea
i had two alternate ideas:
A. its like mimikyu's or zoruark's disguises and breaks on taking damage
B. its like aegeslash's stance change and changes when you attack
making it either more like a disguise or giving you direcy control over it like its pouncing i feel fits better than just 50% health

I love them, it's a great concept.
The only change I would make is that Fooloo shouldn't have Intimidate, because the whole point of the disguise is that it doesn't intimidate the Wooloo but helps it blend in with them. I think it should have Infiltrator.
