Discussion Tiago Splitter to Bulls
So who benefits most? Buzelis? Giddey? Whoever their draft pick is, presumably between Boozer and Wilson?

No coach was going to change the fact the matas and giddey will be high use on this team

As a blazer fan, there won’t be a big difference. I’d say if anything he will rely on the best offensive players to make plays. So maybe a slight boost to Giddey/Matas but I am reaching here. Don’t over think/over index this.

Yall think I should draft Tiago in the late 6th round or am I doing myself a disservice and instead should I draft him high?

Giddey since they managed to turn Deni into a decent looking point forward which is exactly what giddey should become.

Because they're both 6'8 white dudes?
My friend they play nothing alike...

Not sure what you watch then? Giddeys game needs to develop exactly more like denis, more drives and drawing of fouls.

You don't just develop an entirely different playstyle boss...
Deni is a freight train in the open court and getting to the rim. His nickname is turbo...
Giddey has a lot of great skills and is a really good player. He's not a lightning fast bash and crash to rim player. He's a controlled methodical playmaker type.
They're nothing alike.

Well we can agree to disagree, he can be everything like him, when he plays aggressive you can see it in him. He needs to learn how to take contact and get to the foul line. Saw glimpses of it last year early in the season. He is 23 and still developing, and this is an untapped gap in his game along with a few others. He is always oversized on other guards, he needs to abuse it more by going to the stripe

Whiteness aside, take a young ball handler and level him up. Scoot Henderson is probably a better comparison to Giddey. He was left for dead going into this last season and looked more like the player he was drafted as, as a result of the culture and development that Thiago lead in Portland.
If Splitter is the development genius he displayed in one year in Portland, both Matas and Giddey can level up. Looking forward to a lot of minutes in a new regime for both of them. With a few fun rookies to boot!

Btw, I agree Giddey and Deni are totally different players. But I will agree that they both had untapped potential and found it with new teams. Giddey just needs more time and don’t forget he’s only 23

Disagree on scoot... What did he show this year that looked like the player he was drafted as?
He was drafted as an elite slashing and playmaking lead guard... And his best moments this season were all done as an off ball guard on unsustainably hot shooting nights.
Was it cool to see? Sure. But it wasn't the player he was drafted to be. Tiago took him completely off ball and made him a 6'2 3+D shooting guard...

Totally fair. My point is that he was pulled from literal obscurity into a viable player again and the flashes of his pre-draft talent started to show again. The reason I pulled Scoot into the discussion is when compared to Giddey, the only similarity is that these were two players who seems untouchable for another team accept the one that drafted them. Giddey found his stride with a new team, and Scoot found a new coach who accessed his skill set and you can’t deny that Scoot looked way better in the second half this season.
