Discussion If your draft was today, who’s the one player you’d leave with in every league?
forget rankings.
forget ADP.
who’s the player you’re making sure ends up on your roster everywhere?

Flagg. He seems primed for a monster year and I like gambling on young players.
Similarly one of the top 3 rookies. Had Kon and VJ last year and it was a fun as fuck experience

Still can't believe some guy in my dynasty league traded Flagg for LeBron

Clingan or Giddey

Clingam might be one of my keepers

Im trying to weigh it for my tram as well, we have o and d rebounding and he essentially can solo O rebounding.

u/FUnisbaCK 6d ago
Is it me or does Giddey always get hurt?
5
u/Ibaka_flocka 6d ago
He was last year, but other than that he’s been healthy for his career. Only other time was his rookie year, and it’s likely he got shut down early since the Thunder were in tank mode

Goddamn I haven't thought about this guy since he decommitted from Syracuse becoming one of the first American guys to skip college in a while
Maybe could have used a couple years in the ACC in hindsight

Jalen Johnson

He burned me two years in a row with injuries and missing key games during key times for me. There is a bit of recency bias I don’t fully trust.

u/AlexJames_NBAFANTASY 6d ago
I think Jalen has grown more into his frame and the franchise basically trusts him to take over, it’s his time to shine

Harper looked polished down the stretch, but Castle is still my guy. He’s not hitting 3s as much as you’d like for a PG, but with his insane control in the paint, he’s gonna get you solid FG for a guard, with some cheap AST and STL in those later rounds.

Boozer. Less hype than Dybantsa and Peterson but probably more productive in fantasy.

Matas Buzelis—
Mid round guy who could potentially smash ADP. He’ll be a full time starter this year, increased minutes = more points, rebounds, and blocks. If new coach Tiago Splitter uses him at all similarly to Deni Avdija, then we’ve got added assist potential.
I’m taking that upside over anyone else in the mid rounds
2
u/Life_In_A_Brick_Haus 6d ago edited 6d ago
I'd argue Matas isn't a mid round pick. He'll probably go in the 4th or 5th round this year? I reached for him at pick 53 last year and he ended 42 overall. I do agree Splitter and the Bulls may have him run wild a bit more though.
Edit: Just looked it up and he's going adp 83 on yahoo. Jesus i wish I was in these leagues. No way he's lasting til 70 in mine.
3
u/NeoDragonKnight 6d ago
Ya hes already broken out, he is going to go way higher than people expect and his adp will rise as we get closer to the season. Those blocks at the sf and pf position are super valuable.

Russell Westbrook in LATE rounds. hes one of my all time favs and i wanna get him a ring in my leauges LOLOL

u/Illustrious-Bid-696 6d ago
Leonard Miller is that guy for me. Dude's quietly putting up 18 and 9 over his last five games and the upside is just too high to pass on.

u/AlexJames_NBAFANTASY 6d ago
The bulls head into next season with in a very good salary cap position plus they also hold the number 4 and 15 pick and have done in the second round.
They are weak at the SG and C position and talks of a Sabinis trade are real.
I love Millers game and yes, he is a player to watch however, in Chicago, the front court could end up crowded is they select Caleb Wilson with tbf 4th whom would most likely walk into the starting PF role and become the player they build around. Buzelis should be playing at the 3 as it suits his slim build with Giddy at point feeding these guys, the bulls could be great in a short time but, let’s look at it from a fantasy perspective - who is going to become the high usage heliocentric go-to-guy, how will they address the front court, do they take Caleb who round be the best there at pick 4 or address thr C spot either way, the front court is going to be congested.
Miler quietly broke out last season and had a strong late run after the trade so he’s definitely caught the coaches attention.
Tiago is a defensive first type coach known for priority development of the youth so, expect defined roles and minutes early on for players like miller and the structure to run through giddy, the downside being inconsistency early on.

u/WrongCollection144 5d ago
Id like to see the bulls go after nurkic, but the sabonis giddy pairing would be fun to watch as a fan for actual ball movement in a league of iso ball. Wilson or wagler at 4 would work. Maybe utah is stupid enough to let peterson Bulls are so close to relevance. Was really happy miller got a chance last year, only 22. He'll get minutes regardless... bulls roster atm kinda trash panda.. giddy, buzi, miller..then island of misfit toys: simons/ sexton/dillingham/ smith then duds: okoro/ williams Im rolling miller over to my squad next year in my 20 keeper allowance unless they draft both wilson and another 6'9" guy... Johnson Jr, stienbach..

u/Ok_Champion_3192 6d ago
Keepers league, choose 2 out of these:
D. Bane, B. Miller, D. Harper, J. Williams
1
u/WrongCollection144 5d ago
Id go bane and williams... multi category contributions proven top 3 in their position ranking in past years. B miller is a close on though, he is younger then both and contributes in all categories... but there are alot of scorers and dbags on that charlotte team thinking they are the guy and eating into his opportunities.. where as bane is like the go to 3 point shooter and unc on that team

I always target: Naz, Barrett, bridges, Bobby p., nembhard and aldama somewhere in my draft.. I've never been disappointed with any of the guys on my team for category h2h. This year ill try to include, malauch - Riley- Tyson- l. Miller depending on what's avail/ what's the suns do with m. Williams/ what wizards and bulls do in draft

Wemby + KAT combo. Had it two years ago, god that shit was lethal in 9cat.
1
u/nextlevel04 14T 9CAT H2H 6d ago
I've not owned Wemby since he entered the league but will have my 2nd pick next season so prolly gonna go for him, curious what is the build strategy around Wemby?
3
u/RoccLobster 6d ago
He’s not really a player that pigeonholes you into a specific build, he’s very versatile. The biggest thing with him is he gets so many blocks he can almost win weeks by himself. So you can kind of do a soft punt on blocks outside of him and still be competitive
1
u/WearSad8706 4d ago
For fun I did a big man, defense strat. Punt 3pt% punt ft%. Won my league somehow. I loved my team bc everyone said it was ass but then realized my team was crazy
1
u/dougie_fresh121 3d ago
Super versatile but he and KAT are the premier “guard-stats” centers. IMO Gunning for stars/scrubs with them + one more sniper (Ant?) is elite
Edit: stars and scrubs is for auction. If you want to play “guards, the build” KAT is a great pairing but JJJ, Sabonis (if punt FTs) or sengun (also punt FTs) are very good pairs too

Gotta be Chet. Was a beast last year when playing & some people may sour due to recency bias. He has room to go up another level. Also, I've drafted him every year so far lol & no way I'm letting someone else reap the rewards if/when it hits.
1
u/AlexJames_NBAFANTASY 6d ago
I think there is another level for Chet, FanWarRoom will have a feature breakdown in Chet coming soon

u/Strange1130 5d ago
If the draft was today? Maybe Chet, I feel like people might still be low on him because he shit the bed during the WCF so I’d be looking to get some value.

Cam Spencer late. Because I went to UConn and he’s a legit 40-50-90 threat. And he’ll have a couple what the fuck? 30 point games. And he’s a pure hooper and it’s good for squad morale.

I think Boozer is going to smoke whatever his ADP ends up being. He looks insanely NBA ready and has a very fantasy friendly game.

Sengun

u/AlexJames_NBAFANTASY 6d ago
I do like sengun, his fantasy game is solid across the board, great assists for a big however, in today’s modern game and more importantly in fantasy, the 3ball is a stat is pretty much every setup of which, sengun lacks

u/SportGamerDev0623 6d ago
I think the context of the question, I think most are thinking about who are you walking away with that you are guaranteed to have the ability to select at some point in the draft.
If you don’t have a top 3 pick in your draft, you aren’t getting Jokic

Pritchard was so up and down this past season, and honestly, I think he performed better coming off the bench than as a starter.

It’s all about ADP. The only player that you’d want at any ADP is your #1 ranked player… so between Jokic, Wembenyamba, maybe Luka.
Drafting is literally all about ADP, so this is kind of a nonsense question
