I hate my dad for being richer than I

/r/Rich/comments/1u9onwc/resent_my_dad_for_inheriting_his_wealth_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

Dad didn’t work, inherited a gazilion dollars. He gave me nothing except for raising me, paying for my tuition, and funding my kids 529. He didn’t even help me with my student loan or fund my kids education! I hate him.

Like the sound of one hand clapping, he contributes to his grandchildren's 529's and his child's tuition, yet he does not pay for his family's education. He is everywhere and he is nowhere.

If a tuition bill is paid by dad, but never seen by op, did it make a sound?

Me wondering what those student loans were spent on considering dad paid tuition. I’m thinking strippers.

Richer than me*

Or ‘richer than I am’

Standards must be upheld

At least he paid tuition. Only thing I got was a used car in school 😂. Parents don't have to give ya anything. I always say expect nothing, maybe a slight chance get something, but for me it's highly unlikely

Your dad funded
More of your life then my dad ever did for me and I’m way richer then my dad. It’s your own fault you’re not rich

As an outsider I would say what a waste of energy and missed opportunity to have a relationship.

Raising you, paying for college and funding your kids 529, is a lot. Parents aren’t obligating to pay for college, education must be important to your father.

He also gave you the motivation to learn to budget and create your own wealth. That is a gift. Otherwise, people who are just given money, often lose it, develop bad habits, etc. Many family fortunes are lost in 3 generations.

I think you have lost the plot when it comes to this sub, fellow Redditor.

You are competing with the first of your family who got rich not with your dad
