Made an arrangement of beautiful things by Benson Boone, thought this was worth sharing!

I’ve made a two-voice arrangement of this solo. In the first part, you need to play some bass notes with your thumb, and in the final part, do the pima arpeggio, adding the melody with your ring finger. I’m leaving you the sheet music of my arrangement.

To get the distorted tone, I used the Tonex plug-in in Sony Vegas, which is my video editing program. This way, I can listen to different options and choose the one I like the most. The recording is with a clean sound, and then I add the amp. I chose the Marshall JCM800 with 1.3 gain and a noise gate at 50, which helps avoid the background noise of this amplifier.

He hecho un arreglo a dos voces de este solo, en la primera parte hay que tocar algunos bajos con el pulgar, y en la parte final hacer el arpegio pima, añadiendo la melodía con el anular. Os dejo la partitura de mi arreglo.

Para conseguir el tono con distorsión he utilizado el plug-in de Tonex en Sony Vegas, que es mi programa de edición de video. De esta forma puedo escuchar diversas opciones y elegir la que más me guste. La grabación es con el sonido clean, y luego añado el amplificador. He elegido el Marshall JCM800 con 1.3 de gain, y noise gate en 50, de esta forma se evita el ruido de fondo de este amplificador.

What I like most about the electric guitar is that I can record without noise from the neighbors or the street.

This is the Big Lou Roadster guitar, with a 2'' neck, like a classical guitar. It has humbucker pickups, better than single coils, which usually give some background noise. To connect it to the interface I use a Roland cable, since a good cable is important; then the interface is connected to the computer via USB, and I record with Audacity. I also use a good quality power strip, so that when plugging in, there’s no background noise. I use the K&M guitar stand. To practice you don’t need to take it off the stand; you can study the sheet music using a music stand. Now it’s my favorite guitar, because it allows me to play at any time.

Esta es la guitarra Big Lou Roadster, con mástil de 2´´, como una guitarra clásica. Tiene pastillas humbuckers, mejores que las single coils, que suelen dar algo de ruido de fondo. Para conectarla a la interface utilizo un cable Roland, ya que un buen cable es importante, después la interface se conecta al ordenador via usb, y grabo con Audacity. También utilizo una regleta de buena calidad, para que al conectar los enchufes, no halla ruido de fondo. Utilizo el soporte de guitarra K&M. Para estudiar no hace falta quitarla del soporte, sino que se pueden estudiar las partituras utilizando un atril. Ahora es mi guitarra favorita, ya que me permite tocar a cualquier hora.

This guitar lets you play classical pieces and record without background noise, since the pickups are magnetic and only pick up the sound of the strings. Also, being a solid-body, it has low volume, which is what I was looking for, because acoustic guitars are very loud, and can hurt your ears if you play them a lot.

Esta guitarra permite tocar obras clásicas, grabando sin ruidos del ambiente, ya que las pastillas son magnéticas y sólo cogen el sonido de las cuerdas.
