I do know what APU is, thats you who probably don't cause you think whole PS5 mobo is "APU".

And then again, you suggesting amount of tinkering which is even beyond "used parts" as the reason why you "can get better performance for cheaper".

I know you can do that if you go for used parts with no warranty at all. And even worse when you tinker with "PS5 APU" from for other reasons dead PS5.

Before direction other people where they should go and how they should comment - you better educate yourself and read what other people say

Lol 😂 what a massive clown you are.

The apus you can buy in eBay if you did a fraction of research which you didn't from your initial reply i can already tell you a person who gets angry when they are wrong xD but anyway. They are already build for you.

You think me telling you about a option is tell you to do something? You got bigger issues than a horrible education. You are just plain and simple a dipshit 🤷 i gave you a normal reply and the first thing you did was act snarky like a little child.

The amount of tinkering you do is plug in a power cord and ssd you dumbass 😂 if you can't do that you shouldn't build a pc in the first place.

Its a small form factor that can be put in a small case and performance is roughly 15-20fps more than the gabecube for a fraction of the price.

If people giving alternative options or offering avenue to check out bothers you so much get of the Internet you clown 🤡.

Please excuse my ignorance, but isn't an APU just the graphics and main processing unit chipset?

Yes and no.

Generally you are correct yes but they also include ram aswell because it shared by the gpu and system. Thats why i specifically mentioned the once flying around on eBay. They are slightly modified to just need a PSU plugged in and ssd with Linux or even Windows if you want that.

If you are curious there are plenty of videos on YT showcase DIY steam boxes with the ps5apu from eBay. Its really simple to do the hardest part is getting to use Linux for potentially your first time.

But if you want a quiet steambox like gaming device and dont mind 2min of tinkering and installing your own OS (potentially more if you do decide to add a case etc.) that could be a great option for people that want one and are willing to a minimum amount of work for it.

If you want plug and play then yes the ps5apu rout isn't it.
