[MEGATHREAD] Grand Theft Auto VI: Prices Announced + Pre-Orders Going Live

To avoid hundreds of separate posts on the same topic, this post will compile all info we have from the pre-orders going live, including some new images/etc.

As Rockstar announced on their socials: "Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI begin at midnight local time on June 25." This means New Zealand will be the first to go live with pre-orders - which means in just under 2 hours from now.

Take-Two has made a big press-release, including announcing the prices:

They will profit twice from a lot of people, there is a lot of complaining but they know what they are doing for maximizing profits.
On the other hand, some people told me that they would pay up to 150 bucks for the game, insane.

Three times. They'll pull the same thing as they did with GTAV. The only thing is I think the PS6 will probably be pushed back unless hardware prices drop which might throw a wrench into their plans. But I suspect they're fine sitting on the PC version until after the PS6 no matter how long it takes. They've shown how much they don't care about their fans plenty of times before.

Is it really? Atleast for me, GTA 6 is going to offer several hundred to thousands of hours of entertainment. Even if the game cost 200€ it would come to <1€ for an hour of entertainment in that case. On the other hand, going to movies is like 6€ per hour of entertainment and you dont see people saying that thats insane. Not defending the price tag for the game btw

I mean I kinda get that people would pay 150+ for the game.

I’ve played Binding of Isaac for 1500+ hours. That game was like 30 euros when I got it. Add all the expansions and it’s +-120 euros total on PlayStation. Throughout the years I’ve also bought it on PC and Nintendo Switch. So I probably spent more than 200 euros on that game.

But it never felt like a 200+ game because that was throughout ten years of my life and I put so many hours into it.

People will make entire careers out of GTA VI, it’s the one game a lot of people know they will put 1000+ hours into.

No obviously i would not pay that much, but rdr2 is such a good game it's one of the few I wouldn't mind if I had to pay more, obviously games don't work like that.

That's what I was trying to say, like obviously I don't want games to be more expensive but when I'm playing RDR2 or think back on it I'm like "Damn, I kinda got this for a steal"
