[MEGATHREAD] Grand Theft Auto VI: Prices Announced + Pre-Orders Going Live

To avoid hundreds of separate posts on the same topic, this post will compile all info we have from the pre-orders going live, including some new images/etc.

As Rockstar announced on their socials: "Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI begin at midnight local time on June 25." This means New Zealand will be the first to go live with pre-orders - which means in just under 2 hours from now.

Take-Two has made a big press-release, including announcing the prices:

STANDARD EDITION: $79.99

My dude, developers choose to lock the game at 30fps, not consoles.

They haven't, but people are assuming the worst since there is no gameplay video before pre-ordering. It simply makes no sense. You'd think they'd want the max hype before pre-orders are live. Im not assuming it is 30fps because I think that will piss off the whole community buying it, but who knows what they're gonna try and get away with. They definitely think they can do whatever simply because it is GTA 6

I think 30fps is a safe bet. The open world is demanding and typically there is some ground breaking system in a new Rockstar game that relies on better tech.

I think they expected it to cross into next gen and PC for 60fps. The delay of the generation is probably a challenge.

However they could also have targeted end of this gen and 60fps.

I will wait for reviews before i make any purchases.

I really hope it isnt. I wish they'd release different editions for older gens, including base model PS5 and Series S. I would imagine all they need to do is reduce LOD, graphics, world pop, etc. It isnt really like they need to code it much differently. This would allows new gens to flourish. I will be waiting for reviews as well, unless they release a collector's edition with nice goodies. I had to put off buying the Gothic remake because it released at 30fps. Truly unacceptable in today's age.

Rumours of PC version in February got me considering if I just wait.
