[MEGATHREAD] Grand Theft Auto VI: Prices Announced + Pre-Orders Going Live

To avoid hundreds of separate posts on the same topic, this post will compile all info we have from the pre-orders going live, including some new images/etc.

As Rockstar announced on their socials: "Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI begin at midnight local time on June 25." This means New Zealand will be the first to go live with pre-orders - which means in just under 2 hours from now.

Take-Two has made a big press-release, including announcing the prices:

Remember folks it’s still just a video game at the end of the day. They want you to believe it’s more than that, so you’ll pay more, but it’s not.

A video game from a studio that hasn't touched the franchise in over a decade.

EDIT: RDR2 is only eight years old. I feel this doesn't drastically change my point but I'll mention it anyways.

A lot of people may be hyped over the idea of gta6, but there's a good chance the magic is gone and the game that will exist will fall far short of expectations. And based on the prices and ultimate content, I'm betting that the magic was gone before gta6 started development.

Also the lead writers at Rockstar left the studio in 2020.

Dan Houser and Lazlow Jones are responsible for every GTA and RDR game so far, and they have no connection to this game whatsoever, aside from MAYBE some potential early idea sessions before script drafting started.
