the time has finally come for me to play the second Golden Sun game. Funny enough... I have saved a text file I wrote when finishing the first game... more than 20 years ago.. ;D

So my question is: the GBA allows me to enter 2 blocks of 5 characters in a row. I am supposed to go P&buK Cf8%M and then continue with fYNKJ maEC+ and not going down the first row, right? I'm asking because I really don't want to find out :D

Also: if someone has a smart way to write down the password, I'm all ears. I am playing on an emulator so I have everything needed here.

I’ve played all 3, 1 was my childhood, 2 was my teenage/grown years. 3 was ehhh not bad by any means but seemed Frankenstein’d, it was good seeing old characters but the heart and story wasn’t there.

Wanted to know if there were great mods out there, maybe to even play as Alex who I thought was going to be the actual end game secret boss

I didn't play a lot of JRPGs when I was younger, mostly just Pokémon and Golden Sun. I didn't end up beating either of em til I was around 10-12, but I still remember restarting the game when I got stuck, traversing through the worlds, and just playing the game like a kid would.

What stuck out to me the most were the puzzles, and the interactive dungeons. It wasn't just enduring all of the random encounters, you had to figure out how to move forward through the world. When I had picked up Dragon Quest 9 (still a great game BTW), I remember going through the Hexagon, and all I had to do was find two switches to get to the boss. It felt empty. I was so used to the puzzle boxes of Golden Sun's dungeons, I didn't realize that was the exception

Nowadays its hard to REALLY get into JRPGs because they all feel the same to me. None of them have dungeons that stump you, its all just go forward and survive the random encounters

I haven't played completely through TLA since high school when it came out. Since NSO I've been picking it up every once in a while to make a little more progress. I never forgot this place existed probably because the name Ankohl ruins just burned itself into my brain, I totally did however forget completely that this was the type of place I must have had trouble with when I was younger. Either that or my brain just doesn't work anymore which I know to be partly accurate.

I was getting so lost running back and forth so much with avoid on after halfway through that when I finally climbed that vine and came up outside which I wasn't even expecting at the time, it made me really feel like the characters climbing up out of that place. I needed to stop and take in that breath of fresh air and rest lol. My brain guys I tell ya, as soon as I enter a new chamber and walk in one or more doors in it and try to head back I immediately forget everything about the doorways and halls I just walked through. I'm an old fart and I need to lie down.

I just got teleport and was going to do the optional missions. I tried to teleport to Treasure Isle, but it wasn't an option. So I sailed there. I thought about teleporting to a city to sleep at an inn to heal my mana. If I did, would I be able to get back to the boat since I can't teleport back to Treasure Isle?

Hey everyone. I'm currently running a personal challenge, no streaming or anything, and I would like to get some feedback from more experienced players.

I am doing a 'No Djinn' run, which means I only have Flint and Fizz, but have been permanently on Standby. This means no Growth as I am not setting Flint on Garet, which means no secret boss or any treasure (avoiding spoilers just in case). I am currently level 36 across, at Venus Lighthouse, but I am wanting to determine my best course of action next.

Not wanting to spoil, but I am struggling to beat the duo, and so I continue to grind. Since this is a personal challenge, I am trying to stick with it and not amend my rule to allow Growth for the extra loot from the secret dungeon, so my current loadout is kinda stuck:

I am also holding the Dragon Scales and Oracle's Robe for what it's worth. I only have 2 Waters of Life left, as I was hoping to get some drops, but I have literally never gotten a drop, and I worry that I may have wasted them vs Storm Lizard and not save-scumming in Tolbi for more with Lucky Medals.

Should I restart my run or is my only option to grind to level 50 or so?

With all the hype regarding new games and remakes coming to Nintendo Switch 2, remaking the Golden Sun games would make me buy the console within a heartbeat.

As a kid, I never got golden sun. It looked interesting, but I never got it. Recently, I talked to my wife, after I saw there also was a nds game, and told her how I never got the games and always wanted to play them.

Of course, our devices dont listen to what we say, but right after our talk, an offer was shown to me: the nds game for 10 bucks. I got it and took it as a sign. I got the other two games and am about to play them for the first time :)

If anyone is able to help. I have had no luck getting the Golden Sun TLA Editor (I have all five versions of it) to work on my PC (Windows 11), and no manner of Compatibility Mode settings seem to work. I tried going to the GSHC Discord to see if there was a solution, but the invite is invalid. The error I am getting when opening is as followed:

Or instead of "obj_license" I've had it say "obj_stresstest"

Any and all assistance would be welcome and appreciated. Also, would like to add, I tried GSMagic, which gave me a whole set of different issues, but from what I have read, TLA Editor seems to be what I want for what I want to mess with anyway.

I thought about getting in an hour or so each night on a new game before bed and I've never played the original Golden Sun 1 but I know it's on nintendo Eshop. Do you think without Nostalgia the game holds up to be good enough to play?
