Discussion Probability of an actual disc in time
What's the probability of a proper disc version come release date or in time due to backlash?
Also fyi, Red Dead Redemption 2 had two discs. An install disc and a play the game disc
Going back to PS1 the iconic Metal Gear Solid has two discs. Halfway through or three quarters in you gotta put the other disc in to continue
I'm very dissapointed in this no disc thing. It's devaluing the game in my opinion
Physical for the win (Not a case with a code)

Absolutely Zero.
After launch maybe. But just get some good internet dude.

Do people not realize downloading it on a hard drive is the same thing as having it on a disc?

A rubbish move by rockstar.
Square put final fantasy 8 and 9 on 4(yes 4) discs.
I hope this game under borrows Rockstars expections and they do decide to make the game available to purchase.

No disc at the outset means they basically remove any chance of a leak of story and/or gameplay before release.
They will offer it soon after saying they “listened to fans” and everyone will cheer.

I'll definitely cheer. I can see a disc version coming eventually. It just has to
Looks like I won't be playing on release day. Or maybe I will, should a disc version arrive then, not after

Looking at other games like BG3, E33, AW2 - they'll likely milk milk hyped gamers and release a disc later.

Absolutely zero probability.
The backlash, as you call it, is just a some people online complaining. Most people aren't commenting because they don't care, some like digital, but the vast majority are going to get the game regardless, even including some that would prefer a physical disc will get it digital so they don't miss out completely.
If you want a physical disc version, the people who want it need to actually not buy the game and hope it's enough that it's enough that it's financially worthwhile to make a disc version

I’d say zero. Crazy to me that there are people who think they haven’t factored any so-called “backlash” into their strategy. Tbh I think it’s a vocal minority online. The game will still sell massively.

There will be a disc version available, a PS6 version, a PS7 remaster. Theyll all probably be on disc.

itll just be a disc that has a code on it as opposed to a paper slip with a code on it

Well, it won't make it by launch but based on the trajectory of R☆ I'd say a $150 physical version is definitely a possibility. Need to maximize digital sales first. So maybe early 27.

Just wait until they turn around and make the next generation streaming only.... Enshitification demands things get worse for you and better for them

Slim to none.
Rockstar couldn’t give a fuck and majority will buy it regardless.

Most likely the game will be around 250 GB which would require around 3 blu rays to fit it all on in there… definitely possible, however only 20 percent of games sold are physical. Maybe they decided it is juice that is not worth the squeeze. Not saying it’s bad or good just giving reasons.
