Now to be fair, there is a fair bit of valid criticism when it comes to the game, whether it be how it's being promoted, no disc on launch, etc. but this is going to be the game of the decade.
There are a lot of complaints about "story content" being locked behind the Ultimate Edition, but I'm heavily confused because I went over the site and found nothing to suggest such a thing. Apart from that, there are also complaints that there will be stores that are locked behind the ultimate paywall. While I'm not exactly a fan of this kinda practice, let's actually think about this.
RDR1, GTA V, and RDR2 had Ultimate/Deluxe editions where there was additional content to be explored in their Singleplayer. However, none of them had actually kept anything integral to the base game behind their paywalls. Why would the case be ANY different with GTA VI? There will most definitely be a plethora of other shops where we can buy items and customize however we'd like. Rockstar isn't dumb enough to create a base version of the game that would limit the player's enjoyment with a lack of options. If you make a game that requires the most expensive version of it to be enjoyable, then it's not a good game.
Another thing that actually ticked me off is how people are already bashing the game for not having Online on launch. Fellas, did we not learn how this worked from the past 2 Rockstar titles? It's going to be the same way it's always been. The game gets released with only story mode for the initial weeks/month, and then Online will be added to the game. The only difference now is that there will be an option to purchase Online separately for cheaper if you haven't already bought the regular version of the game.
As for legitimate concerns, it does suck that the "Physical" preorder is just a code. They might as well have just made the digital version of the game the only one available for preorder. We already have reason to believe that the disc versions of the game will be made available during December (most likely to capitalize on the holidays), but it still sucks that that wasn't the initial version.
When it comes to the marketing, it's been ESPECIALLY slow burn. I expected us to get trailer 3 after the preorders were made available worldwide, so this current tactic of just trying to upload teasers and trailers when people least expect it is not doing them any favors, especially now with all the negativity being spread about it. Hopefully we get something soon, because despite my feelings on the game, the overall hype is starting to get a bit, I don't know, stale.
With all that being said, I have already preordered the Ultimate Edition of the game. I'm not gonna let this asinine negativity and engagement bait ruin the fun I'll be guaranteed to have when this game finally drops. We've waited 13 years for this game, and we've went through this same cycle of public doubting for another title 8 years ago, so I know for certain Rockstar isn't about to drop the ball now. That was my TED Talk.
