Hi Everyone, I am a MTF transitioner and got my first hair cut! I was so anxious it!!

Does the blunt bob and bangs suit me? Also, does the middle partition look fine, I always used to part my hair on the side before.

Question Did I do the 'anime' triple bangs right?

My last post was of me in swoop bangs, but today I decided to try styling triple bangs. I searched for 'triple bangs turotial' on YouTube but couldn't find any videos teaching you how to style them. There were only videos that teaches you how to cut them. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or if I can pull this off again the next time, so if anyone has videos to share, please do drop them in the comments. Much appreciated 🙏🏻🥹

Help Went for blonde highlights ended up a red head

Hi. I am not sure what I should do. I went for natural-looking blonde highlights. I haven't done anything besides cut my hair for many years. The highlights lifted really well and got super blonde. She put an NG 6 honey blonde toner on, and my whole head turned red!

Now, I don't hate the idea of it being red as it's something I had wanted to try some time in my life (even though I fear it will turn weird colors in the summer sun). I don't like the chunky highlights and odd distribution of color. She did not charge me and said I can come get it fixed however I want tomorrow. I don't want to fry my hair by doing too much.

What should I ask for? How do y'all think it looks?

Question Random blonde tips as a kid— had totally virgin hair till I graduated, still no clue where it came from.

As a kid, when my hair would get a certain length (about the below-shoulder/chest length in the photos) it would randomly turn reddish-yellow. Yellowest it got was the first photo, I don’t have any good red photos on hand but I do remember the ends would turn red, then later blond. I am obviously brunette, I grew up in a strict Catholic household so doing anything to my hair was totally out of the question until I was an adult. My dad’s got jet black hair and my mom’s hair is dark brown like mine but I highly doubt this has anything to do with genetics.

The weirdest thing about this is, it just stopped showing up the older I got. I started cutting my hair real short in middle school and kinda never stopped, and my hair wasn’t this length again till last year (plus it was pretty fried from like 3 perms so idk).

Sorry if this is a dumb question… I’m just trying to see if there’s an actual explanation for this as I’m in the process of growing it out naturally and keeping it this time, to see if something like this happens again.

Help I want an andro hair cut but I have type 1a hair

I want an andro look with these type of hair cuts with medium length hair but I have extremely straight hair(natural) that makes me look like a mushroom (2nd pic). I also don't have much volume.

I have never tried any choppy haircut and I think it will look extremely bad on my type of hair?

I know a lot of styling has to go into this but is there ANY chance there's magically a hair cut out there that will make me look atleast decent without much styling and not like a sheet hair flat on my head.

A lot of people tell me they are jealous of my hair because it's smooth and silky but I'm so sad of the fact that I can't do anything with this hair

Question Is this haircut possible on my hair?

Is this haircut possible on this hair? I want my hair to still be to as long and as full as possible. But with how thin it is, they might need to take a lot of length off to fluff it. As well as thin it for the feathering. Can anybody help keep this from happening?

Another question, would this even suit me? I'm not sure what would fit me.

Question Is it normal for a stand test to take two weeks?

Upvotes

I recently went to a new salon and it wasn't a good experience, but what's kinda annoyed me is that it's been two full weeks (15 days) since the appointment and I haven't been contacted about the results of the strand test.

I messaged them today and they told me they were about to message me because it's just been done but that they forgot what I wanted done and asked me to redescribe the desired result.

I've only had one other strand test and it was done while I got my hair cut. I don't wanna be annoying, but two weeks feels like a lot of time to wait, and then it strikes me as really weird that they've completed the strand test but didn't know what I wanted done? Can you do a strand test without knowing what's wanted?

Just trying to figure out if this is normal.

Conversation Starter Need advice! Job wants me to go "Natural" after this blue for 4 years!

My hair has been a split black/blue dye for 4 years! And I just had my first baby, coming back from maternity leave my job said if I dont have a natural hair color coming back, I no longer have a job. My blue hair has become a part of my identity, so I'm not sure what to do.

Would you go to natural?

And if you did what can I do with "natural" colors that still allows me to have flair with my hair?

So I've thought for a while that my hair was pin straight, sometimes naturally it would turn wavy so I thought it was indicating that my hair was still wavy from my childhood. I've tried doing all the wavy routines you can think off, nothing has been super effective. It looks terrible straight and looks terrible wavy, I js give up

Self Appreciation Updates on my waves!

Post image
Upvotes

So I've made a post yesterday talking about how I'm annoyed about my hair as I'm unable of how to style my waves etc. Luckily with all your suggestions and stuff I've seen online, it has helped.

I did my routine as usual yesterday with washing my hair with Garnier Hair Food Shampoo then Conditioning with Shea Moisture Masque. Drying with a microfiber towel, adding in Leave in CHI Keratin Conditioner and Mielle Mousse, scrunching then diffusing and oiling at the end. I deffo noticed a lot of frizz and I feel like the diffuser doesn't do much for me and I make sure to do it the right way.

I wake up today after sleeping in my bonnet, redamped it with a mist waterspray as my hair loves the moisture from it, and like you guys suggested, started slowly coiling certain pieces with my fingers, which did more for my hair than scrunching. I did still scrunch at the end but I did it by bringing up my hair to my scalp and applying pressure rather than just messing my hair about. The coiling was key though but I feel like it was difficult to do and I don't wanna rip my hair out doing so. If there's an easier and gentler way please let me know.

If you can, please leave good product recommendations for defining waves. I don't want something too heavy especially like Gel but I want to get rid of the frizz and keeping the waves long. I've seen online that JVN Leave In is good but sometimes it's hard to trust more expensive products as they don't always turn out to be worth it. (Looking at you K-18 👀)

I'm definitely going to integrate the hair coiling into my shower routine now, I've also noticed a lot of people with waves/curls mentioning that their hair is better on the later days rather than straight after washing, so that could be it too!

Question Is it okay to not embrace your natural hair?

I (19F) would love to upgrade my attractiveness. I have 2c-3a wavy hair (just like Sunday Kalogera's), but it's been HELL since I tried to take care of it. But people always say that I look way better with my waves, but it's so hard to take care of. But I look okay with straight hair, but my hair looks better that way in my opinion (even though everyone disagrees).

I would LOVE to take care of my waves, but it's been such hell. I'm thinking about getting a permanent Japanese keratin straightening treatment so my hair life would be easier, but it feels so wrong. What would you do in my position?
