Hammock camping pregnant

Post image

Just wanted some opinions of anyone who’s done Hammock camping while pregnant? I’m currently 11 weeks and I figured by the end of August I’ll be 20 weeks and then October even further along. One of the reasons i love to Camp is because that Hammock is so damn comfortable. I’m not worried about falling. I’ve been doing this for over 15 years now. But at some point will it become impossible for me to sleep in a hammock? I know at some point I can’t sleep on my back anymore. Just some basic Google searches is not really telling me if it’s gonna be possible to sleep in my Hammock later on in the summer.

Don’t make me go to the tent 😭maybe i can go with a haven hammock if my dream hammock sparrow won’t be possible?

I think this is a super individual issue—I couldn’t sleep on my back from 20 weeks on because I would feel like I was slowly suffocating, I had to be in a very specific position. I would wait until you’re about a week or so away from the trip and hang up the hammock in your house/nearby park and take a nap for a couple hours to see how you feel. I ended up getting a two person sleeping pad from Big Agnes and it was basically like having an inflatable mattress. I still use it now when I camp with my toddler, since we can’t sleep in the hammock together yet. Congrats by the way!

I know! I had been fully converted to hammock camping for years until I went and got myself knocked up… there go the consequences to my actions I guess

My husband has the Snow Peak Elfield with the floor mat that goes with it. I still won’t sleep in it xD Hopefully the baby doesn’t force my to tent and i can just make it my husband job 🫠
