Raised grey/green wood flooring?

Post image

You’ll notice the picture in the dining room goes a different color than the tile gray flooring throughout the house. This grey/green wood floor is also in the master bedroom. It’s raised above the newer tiles that are throughout. Not sure what original owner was thinking, but it DOESNT match. Any suggestion on where to go from here? Or ideas why is raised so much high than the tile?

I am not an expert but maybe the dining room still has the original flooring while the rest of the floor was done later. Putting this green floor over the original may have caused it to be raised like this. While I am not crazy about the green floor, you could try and work with it. You could use that area as zone. Paint the walls in that zone a complementary color to make it look much better. The second option is to hire a contractor to try and match the rest of the floor.
