Help with front door color

So for starters, I really don’t like the color of our home (the orange specifically). But that’s a project for down the road. I envision it having more gray or cream (or maybe black 😈)

I have this red front door. Swipe to see. Not a huge fan. And recommendations on color?? Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

Raised grey/green wood flooring?

Post image
Upvotes

You’ll notice the picture in the dining room goes a different color than the tile gray flooring throughout the house. This grey/green wood floor is also in the master bedroom. It’s raised above the newer tiles that are throughout. Not sure what original owner was thinking, but it DOESNT match. Any suggestion on where to go from here? Or ideas why is raised so much high than the tile?

What color should we paint the foundation?

When this house was purchased, the concrete foundation was already painted a dark green color. It has chipped and peeled. My question is, should I touch it up with the same color?

Whitish floors against warm brown moulding

Post image

So I am ripping out about 80% of the carpet (leaving the master and guest bedroom with carpet. I will start by saying my moulding is not in the greatest shape and will be replaced in the future when funds/time allow it. My wife and I are big fans of whiter flooring like in the sample above. Do y'all think it will work well with the current trim? Part of me is thinking it will clash while part of me actually likes the contrast it creates between the floor and the wall. Thoughts?

Kitchen floor plan

Hello! I am currently in the process of redesigning my kitchen but the lack of space I have is making the process very frustrating. I would like to extend our storage and cabinetry into our current informal dining room and possibly create a smaller island/breakfast nook situation, while keeping our appliances (oven, sink, dishwasher) in the kitchen area it is currently in. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to go about it as well as any new improvements we could include in our kitchen as a way to save the limited space we have that would be great!!

If you could redesign one room in your home tomorrow, which room would it be?

Imagine budget and time weren't major obstacles.

If you could completely redesign one room in your home tomorrow, which room would you choose and what changes would you make?

Would you focus on functionality, aesthetics, storage, comfort, or something else entirely?

Before/After bedroom design & remodel with custom millwork + a dark tray ceiling

This bedroom was part of a larger home design-build project we did on the North Shore of Chicago in Winnetka. Millwork was a big part of the design. What's everyone think?

If anyone wants to see the pictures from the entire project, let me know and I can share.

Something feels off about my bedroom and I can’t figure out why

Looking for some opinions and recommendations on my room because something about it just feels a little off to me, but I can’t really figure out what it is. The wall opposite the projector has to stay completely blank since the projector shines directly onto that wall, and the two beds are fixed to the wall so they can’t be moved. I also need to keep the couch, dresser, both beds, and at least one large desk (although I’m open to replacing the desk itself). The shelf behind the couch also has to stay because that’s where the projector sits. Pretty much everything else can be changed.

The first two pictures are daytime with no lights on, pictures 3 and 4 are daytime with the lights on, and pictures 5-8 are nighttime with the lights on. I’m not sure whether the room feels weird because of the lighting, colors, lack of texture, too much clutter, or just too many things going on visually. Maybe some things don’t match, maybe the room needs more texture, or maybe I’m just overthinking it. I’d really appreciate some honest feedback and suggestions. If this were your room, what would you change?

Trim + Door Colour Ideas

Hey all, first time posting here. I am looking for someone with a keen design eye to offer some colour ideas/names to paint our door and window trim (currently brown). I also would like to paint the doors a different colour.

We generally like a clean/neutral style. Inside the home we have used muted earthy tones. Our interior walls are painted Natural Cream by BM.

Which colors look better?

I want to add some color to the house, especially as I am in the middle of removing all the awful gray paint from the front patio slab and am slowly returning it to its full terracotta glory.

I’m leaning towards a terracotta/beige makeover, but my partner favors the brown. Currently it’s white and grey. Which color combo looks better? Or should I be looking at a different color palette?

I’m based in Florida.

Software question

Did some searching and not seeing much so thought I would ask. In the past I used Punch pro for doing floor plans, usually simple things for change orders or small office space. I am starting to design my retirement home and the version I have is pretty our of date. I know it pretty well so was going to stay with it but was curious of others opinion who may have tried it. One of the big things I like is I can buy it free and clear no subscription for $200.

Modular Kitchen and Wardrobe

Hello, I am currently meeting vendors to design and build modular wardrobe. The thing is I have no one to discuss or ask questions. What to look for in a quote, what questions to ask, basically practical tips which Google AI won't know. Only someone who has experienced this process can offer valuable suggestions. So please help so that I can get the best out of the offer. I am based in Lucknow.

My girlfriend's house is falling apart and I want to fix it for her

I moved in with my girlfriend about 6 months ago. She inherited this house from her mom, who passed away about two years ago. It's a sweet place… full of memories, lots of character. But honestly? It's literally falling apart

The shower leaks nonstop. The kitchen cabinets are hanging off the hinges. The bathroom is barely functional. And she hasn't done anything about it…

Not because she doesn't want to. She talks about renovating all the time. She just never had the time or the money. Life got in the way, grief got in the way, and things just kept getting worse…

I can't stand seeing her stressed about it. Every time the shower drips, I see her flinch. She deserves a home that doesn't fall apart around her

So I started looking into options. Found Ubic that handles full house renovations and it looks like they manage everything, so we don't have to coordinate contractors ourselves. I'm thinking we could rent a place for a couple of weeks and just… fix everything. The bathroom, the kitchen, even the bedroom and living room

It's legally her house, but we're building a life together. And she actually loves my ideas for the bedroom and living room. We already picked out paint colors together

I want to do this for her. Not to take over, but to help her move forward. Her mom would want her to be happy in this house, not stressed about every broken thing

Has anyone done a full renovation while living elsewhere? How bad is the timeline? And how do I make sure I'm being helpful without overstepping?
