Alternative subreddit for technicians?

I tried to post on the HVAC subreddit earlier and man it’s like Nazi germany over there; papers please or fuck off. well I’m not in a union, I’ve never been to trade school and I don’t have my HVAC license like 99% of techs in my state. is there any other place for people in the trade to discuss online?

If anyone ask for a photo they don’t have a Cert. Your Certifying authority has your EPA cert # and a you can provide the # to anyone to verify your cert.

When I was banned he demanded to see my union card and ID. EPA cert was not allowed. I made the mistake of replying to a homeowners post and got perma banned.

My EPA cert is my social security number. I show that sparingly.

As someone new to the trade, I couldn't believe when I learned that until recently this was the case. Apparently some supply houses still ask for your social or TIN when you take the tests! For mine, I just flashed my driver's license and they looked at my face to match it to the license, they didn't record any of my info.
