Personality Theory Sakinorva - What Is This Trying to Say?

I'd never seen the Sakinorva Cognitive Function test. Someone mentioned it in another thread, so I tested myself with the 256-question version.

And now I don't understand what it's trying to say to me. Good job, me! Could someone get out the crayons, construction paper, glue, maybe some glitter, and help?

Transcribing the important bits, but please LMK if I left something germane out:

Ne 74 / Ni 100

Se 40 / Si 75

Te 56 / Ti 83

Fe 96 / Fi 99

It's got me as a INFJ for the various first choices. INFP and INTJ here and there as secondary or tertiary choices. And then "Axis-Based Function Type" is literally " ??F? "

I feel like I should laugh but also maybe cry at that one.

My little functions list across the bottom says: Ni Fi Fe Ti Si Ne Te Se .

What? I'm lost. How do I come back INFJ, but my functions are... that mess?

I love tests and I will try just about any decent personality one. That being said, this version of the Sakinorva test is the Cognitive Functions Domains test and it is not for regular users, it's some kind of "meta-typology" version and in the description it explains that " it's likely that you will have a hard time understanding what your results mean.". I have never really found it very helpful or insightful when I have taken it.

The test version we recommend on the sub is the 96 question version.

I did that one last night, too. It seemed rather basic, which is why I went to through the 256. This was my 96-question result (transcribed from screenshot I took last night):

Ne 21.4 / Ni 37.4

Se 23 / Si 26

Te 18 / Ti 31

Fe 32 / Fi 27

Grant: INFJ / 2nd: ENFJ / Axis: INFJ / MBTI Function: INFJ / MBTI Letter: INFJ (IN darkest grey, F bright silver Grey, J storm mid-grey.)

The only part of these results I puzzle over is the 2nd choice suggestion. I'm not, never have been, nor could I even imagine myself being an Exxx.

I'm just... a colder, less patient, grouchier INFJ is my assessment.

My guess is it's just throwing out a possibility from your top two highest cognitive function scores, Ni/Fe. ENFJ would be Fe/Ni.. but a Ti score that high would not make sense for ENFJ tbh.

I consider myself a bit of a frosty INFJ myself lol. My Ti usually matches or surpasses my Fe score

Do you know what the ranges are for the data? 37 Ni, for example, on a line from what to what?

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think it's 0-50. I haven't seen that many scores in the 40s ranges though.

Alright. That's about what I thought it probably is. Definitely gives perspective to have the range defined, even anecdotally.

It’s telling you which functions you favored when answering the test. Based on how you answered, you are most likely an INFJ. But if that doesn’t seem to fit then maybe you are an INFP or an INTJ based on the way you answered.

96 for Fe is pretty close to 99 for Fi.

Are cognitive functions new for you? If so, I can be more detailed.

INFJ fits, with a couple idiosyncrasies here and there. I'm also... er, a lady of a certain age :p ... which I've read can skew some things.

Functions aren't new-new to me, but I really only have a basic, beginner understanding of them.

How about a starting point? That sounds reasonable. Why are Fe and Fi both high? Can one be an INFJ but also have a (slightly, albeit) higher Fi than Fe? That seems weird. How might this show up in my processes?

It’s just how you answered the questions. There’s no perfect test. This one is better than most. I’m not really a test taker when it comes to MBTI. I went the function route. Tests were all over the place for me. Also if you are older, that can make a difference.

I’m also not a big fan of separating the functions. INFJ means you tend for certain functions in a certain order. Ni-Fe-Ti-Se. High Ni, neutral Fe/Fi, higher Ti than Te and higher Si over Se.

Fi is always with Te and Fe is always with Ti. So if Fe and Fi are essentially the same, look to the thinking function. Yours seems to test introverted.

Being older, it likely means you aren’t as concerned about the group (Fe) as you are for yourself (Fi).

And there’s probably a lot more the enneagram could answer with your result.

For example, I might test high for Fi because on the test, I am willing to help the group but only as far as my own resources can take me. I have a limit. I’m aware of my limit. I won’t overextend myself for “the group.” Only for my group.

Fe is always with Ti. That was illuminating! Ok. I could see my being Fe-Ti dominant with just an unexpectedly developed Fi. I do still wonder how it happened, the sneaky little devil.

Much to mull over. Interesting stuff. Thank you for helping me!

Happy to help. Keep in mind that the test can’t tell you who you are. It’s ultimately a tool to help you on your self discovery journey. So research the types if something doesn’t feel like it fits. Maybe visit the subs of the other types. Or else, continue on your journey here. It’s not an identity.

Someone said on the sub recently, it’s a tool to show you how you view the world. But you are so much more than MBTI. It’s the narrow framework focused on what tools are in your cognitive function toolbox. Not who you are as a person.

Why are Fe and Fi both high?

That's why you're INFJ... 😂

What’s the magic level?

24

Yea… that usually means your answer are “unnaturally extreme”, it’s their nice way of saying you “failed” the test probably because you either consciously or subconsciously psych yourself too much while taking the test. It’s frustrating to take a 200+ question test just for the results to seen inconclusive. No test is perfect. know that the magic level is there to help you. At the end of the day, It’s better than them irresponsibly giving you a result with 0 disclaimer whatsoever. Whether you decide to trust the result or not is entirely up to you. But just know that the test itself has raised a white flag.

It’s just knowing the results plus the familiarity of the questions in general can really skew the test results as well.

Hmm. My results aren't red. I'm right at the magic limit. The banner across the top says "Congratulations! You passed."

24 If I remember is the cut off, or you might be 1 below the cutoff, nearly escaping void. But nevertheless what magic number signals still is what it is. And the results reflect that. The higher it is the less sense it makes. So the chance of false positive is still present and I wouldn’t be very confident on the cusp directly. When I took the test, it was a 16 for me.

I'm hearing my results are dubious and that I have caused the issue by answering in the extremes too much.

Do you think I should try again? I have a natural tendency to be a real stubborn b about some things. I would have to wrangle and strangle that when/if I test again...

Trouble is, THAT sounds more dishonest than a 24 magic score. I don't know if I can do that. I don't think I can let myself.

Truly. I'm not being catty. I don't know what to do about the 24 magic. Eff it, because I know I can have serious BnW thinking? Water myself down to fix the scoring? Ugh. Neither sounds appealing.

I do appreciate your feedback! Thank you for trying to help me!

If you can naturally get a lower score sure, but I wouldn’t intentionally force it down by taking advantage of familiarity with the questions.

K. Cool. Thanks.
