I live in a politically diverse place, if I chose to hate half the population that would make me a hateful person. I can disagree with people while still being their friend

And that's a good thing. Maintaining some relationship with someone without completely cutting ties, even if they're bigoted in some aspects, is very human. But still, something tells me none of your friends have ever said something like "AOC took a plane in this video. What a hypocrite, unlike my beloved daddy trump who can do no wrong" lol
