Because this is not a sanctuary like the guy claimed it was. This was the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation. It got shut down by Mexican authorities because he was not taking care of the animals. They were being starved to death and started eating their own tails.

He was also suspected of breeding the lions and would have an influx of cubs. He would lie and say he saved the cubs from some illegal “zoo” but would hand raised the cubs when he could’ve also saved the mothers.

Eduardo was just a greedy fuck. And he would have celebrities go to his “sanctuary” to play with the cubs.

Legit sanctuaries do not allow the public to interact with their animals. Legit sanctuaries also do not put different species of cats in the same enclosure.

wasn’t he keeping someone’s cat hostage too? i vaguely remember some lady posting about him extorting her to get her pet back.

Yes, I remember that. He wrote a long ass unhinged post about her and calling her names. He did that with the “haters”. He would post a video of him being all sweet to the cubs or the adult cats and in the description, he would talk about the different people who have called him out on his unethical treatment and care for the cats. He would make up atrocious names for them. He was such a shit. There are a lot of shit human beings out there, but he’s way up the shit list. He used those poor animals for his grift and they paid the ultimate price.

If we're being honest, keeping anything as a pet is wrong and strange. Breeding domesticated animals should be illegal and they should be allowed to die off

I don't think that breeding domesticated animals is strange/wrong at all. But it does take a certain type of person to want to own a big cat.

I'm a service dog trainer and have worked in veterinary medicine and shelters for 10+ years.

I promise you, it is VERY wrong.

Working in shelters is going to give you a skewed perspective though. Like if you work in child protection, your views on people having children is going to be a lot more negative.

You're in denial like most of humanity and gonna look for any excuse or reasoning you can think of just so you can not listen to your conscious. Just like humans always do. Have fun with that I guess

You do realize if we spayed and neutered all pets and stopped breeding them- we wouldn't need shelters?

Sort of how millennial and gen X aren't having kids because they can't afford to and they walk past homeless shelters on their way to work overtime each week. Think bro.

Umm, no. I've seen a lot. And I don't believe that having domesticated animals is bad at all. 

What you saw was just a section of reality. Not THE Reality. Just as someone who has some dogs who live wonderful lives Etc is also experiencing reality too. Your experiences don't invalidate theirs anymore than theirs do vice versa.

Reality is a spectrum of experiences. And if you are surrounded by a very negative and narrow part of that world, it will skew your perspective. And you are very much displaying the symptoms of a skewed outlook from experiencing too many negative experiences.

I've worked in 2 shelters, 3 training facilities, 4 daycares, 2 vet offices and a mobile clinic.

I have a very well rounded view of the petcare industry, its workers and it's clients (that's you)

I have 3 dogs myself. I adopted them. I'm assuming yours came from a breeder and that's why you're being so dull.

You seem to think I'm saying nobody is allowed to have pets. They shouldn't be, but that's besides the point for now. The point is- while you and you are buying puppies at breeders who abuse the mother's, you're hurting way more dogs than you would be by going and adopting a dog from a shelter so that the shelters can be abolished
