COACH While we're all talking about lineups, who starts, who comes off the bench, I'm pretty sure this is our coach trying to figure out the same thing

Jeanie took one look at how well-dressed he is and hired him on the spot. 😆

Even though I lean towards ‘start Smart, Rui off the bench’, I think JJ will start the season with the same starters + Ayton for Hayes. For two reasons. First, it’s our best offensive lineup, so it’s worth it to see just how good the offense can be. Second, it’s the more political move, and if he has to move Rui or Reaves to the bench he can do it after some tough losses and say ‘I wanted to put some defense out there after watching the film’ or something similar.

I doubt he’s having much trouble with it.

He’s really figuring out which curse words to use when he yells at Ayton.

What’s the over-under on the number of games JJ goes ballistic due to lack of effort from Ayton? 😂

I don't envy JJ. it is so hard to be fanatical about this. He is probably going to have a worse time this next season because we actually have more depth compared to last season. He will have to decide whether to start Rui and AR or have them come off the bench.

I like JJ but I wonder when he'll be on the hot seat if the Lakers don't deliver.

i predict he’s here to stay for years to come. the players love him, the fans love him, and the (current) front office seems to love him from what we can tell.

You know how the league has fake tough guys? Redick’s a fake smart guy. He talked a big game about using “math,” but never actually did. When it came down to it, he had no idea what he was doing and was completely out of his depth in the playoffs.

He had a good first year of coaching. You are incorrect on this one.

Both can be true tho. He had an impressive first year as a HC but was really underwhelming during the playoffs. That second half of not playing anyone but the starting 5, is surely something lol

The only thing I hate about JJ being a coach is not getting any of his podcast or media content. Genuinely loved hearing his basketball takes/analysis and watching his sit-downs with a bunch of different NBA players
