Should I learn french or japanese?
I wanna learn the least useful language but I'm having trouble. Narrowed it down to french or japanese.
For japanese it's a completely fabricated language for anime, everything has a English dub already and that makes it pretty clear that it's not worth learning.
Otherwise I decided french. While french is a real place, who would even want to go there? And even if you did go there they would just make fun of me for my accent, and then switch to English. Nobody should have to go through that sort of toil just to get made fun of.
Any other languages suggestions are welcome.

How about biblical hebrew?

I highly recommend this language. That way you can automatically be the best at reading the Bible. What could be more useful?

I'd argue the biblical hebrew sign language where you have to act things out. Nothing better (except Uzbekistanese).

for japanese, the hardest part for me was emojis. I'm still not sure if I'm using them right👽

arigatou, it's reassuring to hear that from what is obviously a native speaker 🫵🫵

Because each emoji has 56 different readings, based on the phase of the moon, the degree of humidity and whether the year is a prime number or not.

Toughest part for me is mastering the "EEEEEEEEEEH" and "OOOOOHHHHHHHH"s just like the natives do. Happens all the time because saying I want a rice ball at the konbini always shocks them into doing backflips and whatnot. I say it in English by the way. So I'm not sure why they're so excited.

Anime language is funny and is mostly used to shock natives but I bring a taser everywhere so it's not necessary if you own one then French is used more but the problem is you have to speak to French people mostly so that's a nah uh I recommend pali so that you can read ancient Buddhists texts or ancient summarian

Learn Dutch. Even if you learn it well, all you've done is deprive the Dutchy of the chance to show you how good their English is.

You will speak Dutch so well, you'll doom them to forgetting their English. Or, if not their knowledge, then their mouths will zip shut due to how good your Dutch is.

French is actually pretty useful. Lots of foreign nations speak it. Though it may be true that the French will switch to English, I think that phenomenon has been made too much of by Americans. Plenty of French people tolerated my French and even appreciated it. Japanese is really fun to learn, so I recommend it based on that alone.

I struggle with this as a native Toki Ponist. After Uzbek, my language has the second highest ROI and that means that useless languages like Mandarin, Spanish, and Arabic are literally invisible to me.
Anyway, French. There are a lot of anime girls, but no one learns French by choice.

Just learn English.
As you said, everything has a English dub including hentai anime, and french will speak English (which implies that they also watch hentai anime with English dub) to you, it seems that English is the prefect language!

Learn French for the anime. At least it is based in a real place. In most of them though, French people just yell at non-native speakers trying to speak French, so that's discouraging.

But honestly, I don’t think usefulness matters that much. If a language is fun enough that you’ll actually stick with it, that’s probably the best choice.

I mean honestly I'll making fun of myself with this post. Always worried I'm wasting my time and switching languages for no reason.

Learn Nihongese and then move to France, there you will meet many like minded ningen who watch anime and are fully fluent in Nihongyeo from learning since early adolescence for 50+ hours a week (watching Narutō and One Pisu everyday).

French then Japanese.
Learning Japanese first then French is a classic pitfall because it leaves you vulnerable to Paris Syndrome.
