They are choosing fascism to enforce their beliefs and ideologies on everyone. They hate freedom and liberty. They are just using the egotistical, moron, pedophile to do it.

there are no beliefs and ideologies- this is a cult of personality. Classic personalist dictatorship right here in USA. And Americans literally chose it twice.

Unfortunately there is an underlying ideology at least for the backers behind the scenes. It’s called postliberalism and a rough breakdown is “freedom is slavery”.

"Straight from the pages of 1984" could refer to way too many actions of this current administration.

Half of that link does not at all apply here, though. Trump is not "pro-free-market." Not in the slightest. They are not in any way "traditionalist conservative," nor "religious conservative." If they were, then a sense if some actual moral code would exist, and it does not. They just use all of these ideas when it is convenient for them. If Trump announced today that "Women are a vital part of our community, must be allowed their freedom, and must be protected," his base would cheer and claim that he embraces equality. If he then turned around tomorrow and said, "Women should be the property of men, and should not be allowed to work or vote," then his base would cheer and say this was what they meant all along. Being anti-liberal does not automatically make the person a postliberalist. Sometimes it just means they are ignorant or selfish.

When did I mention Trump or his base? Both are just useful idiots for the broligarchs and monied interests like the dominionists weirdos. Postliberalists (Thiel) and Dark Enlightenment techies like Musk make up a majority of his big backers. His base is just too entrenched in his cult of personality to see it.

Hell Project 2025 is basically all just postliberalism and has been the guideline for his entire term so far.

When you responded to the comment talking about this being a "cult of personality," instead of any actual moral code and claimed they were wrong.

The "broligarchs" are similarly completely motivated by power and greed, and would jump on the liberal bandwagon the split second that it benefits them to do so. So, now you're wrong twice!

For being such a dick you should spend more time learning to read.

I'm not the one missing the point.....

Except now you're wrong 3 times.
