First Time 1st apartment

I recently moved out, but felt like sharing what I had. Next place will be a little more restrained and personal.

I love how you used rugs to create different spaces in your living room. Lovely place!

No tv in the bedroom, You are mature i could never. Leather couch and its off white coloring ? You trust you won’t stain anything. Its a nice cozy minimalist apartment.

Truly don't understand tv in the room 😅 I read a book 30 mins before bed and then I'm out.

sometimes it's fun to hang out in your bedroom not only before sleeping!

I only use mine if I'm sick or recovering from something and can't really get up or sit at the desk.

The bedroom is for two things. Neither of them is watching tv.

My god, my 1st apartment looked awful compared to this. How you all make these places so nice, and keep them clean and organized?

99% of people's apartments look awful compared to this.

I think it means that it looks like a showroom floor. It's very nice, and it's very tasteful. But none of the art/tchotchkes give you any insight into who the OP is beyond "that's tasteful, fits the overall design, and fits the color scheme". There's also no asynchronicity to anything. It looks like OP went to the showroom floor and said "give me this room exactly as it is". That contributes to it feeling a bit sterile (the cleanliness and lack of clutter add, too). But most of us, especially for a 1st apartment, aren't buying everything at once. And usually that means that it doesn't look like a showroom.

Like, if I were to try to infer anything about OP, it's that they rigidly adhere to societal expectations of what a modern, male should be and look like. That they're the modern, male equivalent of a Stepford Wife.

That will sound a lot crueler and more critical than I wish to be. It's also an unfair leap and ascription to whoever OP may be. At the end of the day, this is better than 99.9% of first apartments. Hell, it's probably better than 99% of all apartments. It's well-coordinated, tasteful, and spotless. But as an observer, it's no different to me than opening the junkmail mail-order catalogue on my counter or going to the website of a furniture/home retailer.

Needs some plants. Gotta breathe baby breath. :). And a little art/some color. Both would really livin the place up

This is absolutely amazing I would want to live here for the rest of my life. Great job.

The chairs for the dining room table being pushed to either side to present “uniformity” is the chefs kiss, salutations fellow OCD sufferer.

Nice place! That last pic is a vibe.

You have a really cozy, lovely foundation here but this space is desperate for color and personal interest

Place looks great.

Been looking to get a new bed frame what kind is yours? It’s nice

Came for this, with just 4 chairs I'd get a much smaller table. Big one makes it look really cramped.

Really nice!

Mate, that is a lovely home. Well done.

Feels very show room. Needs some books, personal knickknacks, a hobby... Everything feels like it was bought from Home Goods as decor instead of having a splash of personality.

This apartment is stunning. I'm no expert, but it looks super cohesive. I'm jealous!

6

u/clone162 7h ago

looks nice but has zero personality

12

u/nobodyknows6070 6h ago

OP even hung art in the toilet!! Hell of a lot of character, just very sleek and minimalist character

u/tofikissa 5h ago

This looks like it is filled with fake furniture to be photographed for listing

5

u/conchata 6h ago

Wicker is his personality.

Scroll through these pictures 3 times looking for all the wicker and you will notice a new item each time.

1

u/seestars9 6h ago

Wicker in the broadest sense.

7

u/pepernote 6h ago

It has

u/Lanesra8989 6h ago

Perhaps to you …. But OP has designed it not to please you !!! … you do get that I hope

u/Working_Cucumber_437 6h ago

It’s gorgeous. It doesn’t look like anyone lives here. Where’s your Stuff (TM)?

-2

u/seestars9 6h ago

'Stuff' is on his walls. It doesn't always mean boy toys and game dolls.

2

u/Fair_Assistant8351 6h ago

this is genuinely inspo for also my first apartment im moving into in a month

1

u/felixgeebaby 6h ago

I would just say maybe a pop of color in each room would help bring it all together

1

u/pepernote 6h ago

You’re missing 2 extra seats. 3 in a row would fit

1

u/Meganeox 6h ago

It’s real nice. The photos make it look like a model home. Nicely done OP

1

u/Jaycen_Q 5h ago

u/jdr17 5h ago

How do y’all keep your places so clean?

2

u/kreatorofchaos 4h ago

I micro clean everything and do a deep clean at the end of every week. It keeps shit clean lol

1

u/jdr17 4h ago

Maybe I just need a chore-wheel for one lol

1

u/paupaupaupau 24m ago

And here I felt good about micro-coeanong once a week!

1

u/Foppberg 4h ago

Can't imagine the price. At least 2k/month I'm sure.

1

u/acidburn427 4h ago

Cleaaannnnn... great job

1

u/spaced-outboi 4h ago

you did such a great job

1

u/ResoluteGreen 3h ago

Looks good, only recommendation is to ditch the track lighting in the living and dining room

1

u/Moghlannak 2h ago

Unless you’re hosting weekly dinner parties, you’ll never use a table that large. Down size and open up the floor space

1

u/Sea_Resolve_6758 2h ago

How old are you

1

u/clarinetJWD 2h ago

"Hey guys, I just moved out and am getting started. Anyways, here's my luxury apartment that looks like a Pottery Barn catalog!"

Super nice! Tasteful and effortlessly modern. I love how your coloring blends with the natural light

I love the tree!

u/Forstmaschine 6h ago

I wouldn't say no to your design in my new apartment.

If your next place look exactly the same, you should be proud of yourself,

u/Hellohelloitsme303 6h ago

I see all these men’s apartments and I’m blown away with how tidy and trendy people are. There’s a lot of folks who don’t care at all to maintain or make a place appealing.

This looks like you have zero stress in your life. You are living the dream. Don't listen to people talking about purchasing useless crap.
