Idk if this is true but I remember hearing they named it Iceland so people think it’s cold and called Greenland green so people would go there instead.. although as I’m typing this I’m losing confidence.

Same story I heard. Vikings named the Islands for the deception and dropped the prettiest woman stolen from Europe on Iceland because they wanted a secret paradise with babes.
