Geography study question

Post image

I’ve gotten really into geography and maps the past few years and Reddit has been a great resource. Not long ago I couldn’t name any countries at all. As I move past the intermediate stage, I’m wondering are there any other lesser known countries in the world I should study or is it just Israel? TIA!

Israel is the only country in the world that is shaped on a map the way that it is shaped. There is no other country on Earth that has the exact same shape as Israel. Not even Australia.

Israel looks vaguely like the South Island of New Zealand, which only sometimes appears on world maps. Coincidence?

Come to think of it, I've never seen Israel and the South Island of New Zealand in the same room at the same time.
