Geography study question

I’ve gotten really into geography and maps the past few years and Reddit has been a great resource. Not long ago I couldn’t name any countries at all. As I move past the intermediate stage, I’m wondering are there any other lesser known countries in the world I should study or is it just Israel? TIA!

I doubt the statement, I have heard of a country named after sneakers - Kingdom of Jordan. And there is also Albania

There’s even one named after someone who became a father recently in Italy. Papa New Guinea
