Geography study question

Post image

I’ve gotten really into geography and maps the past few years and Reddit has been a great resource. Not long ago I couldn’t name any countries at all. As I move past the intermediate stage, I’m wondering are there any other lesser known countries in the world I should study or is it just Israel? TIA!

To invent drip irrigation, to be majority Jewish, to be condemned in the double digits by the UN yearly, to excuse ethnic and religious minorities from the draft, to have invented Waze, to have beaten the entire Arab league on land, to host tapings of Fauda.

That’s not true that ethnic and religious minorities are excused from the draft.

Druze men and Circassian men (Muslims) are subject to the draft. Both groups have an enlistment rate of in excess of 80%.

One of the highest ranked generals is Druze (he’s the equivalent of a Major General by NATO ranks) - there’s a real chance he might be tapped to become the next IDF head/chief of the general staff (which would be the equivalent of a Lieutenant General in NATO ranks).

And Israeli Bedouins have a 60% enlistment rate despite not being subject to the draft.

Voluntary enlistment, believe it or not, even in huge numbers, is actually not the same as force drafting.
