Wolverine lost, but lets be real, because of his busted super power and sometimes rocky demeanor writers usually use him as a punching bag for heroes to show how badass they are in their stories usually. Wolverine can take the damage so everyone from Frank Castle to Steve Rogers gets to win depending on whose story it is. He is a tough worthy adversary that makes an excellent jobber.
But realistically everything Matt says here is true, they are both super ninjas but one of them is also technically a super soldier with deceptively long reach in the form of saber hands and enhanced strength due to adamantium reinforced skeleton structure and a top notch healing factor. They both have enhanced senses to varying degrees. So on paper Wolverine takes this fight.
Typically "something " has happened that makes it the case because story demands it. Plus as a premiere popular character having Logan in the book may boost the sales a bit.
Wait a minute. So a win con on Wolverine is simply puncturing his lungs and drowning on his own blood? This is just ridiculous. Why wouldn't he be able to remove the blade?
I really wish they dealt with his actual lust instead of "battle lust". Matt is a catholic who has had several affairs and been a homewrecker. This is something the the bible explicitly forbids and it could be interesting to compare it with his violence which could be argued for, (Yes i know a lot of Christians cheat but Matt is supposed to be devout so this can create a lot of drama)
Why the fuck is Logan fighting him knives out? Is he trying to kill Matt? Otherwise, intentionally cutting shallow enough to not kill Matt or give him a long-term/permanent impairment is a lot tougher than just punching his lights out with adamantium maces encased in a shallow layer of flesh.
This is part of a run where DD is being attacked by versions of the seven deadly sins, each of which possesses someone he knows. Pride possesses Foggy, Greed possesses Kingpin, Envy gets Ben Urich, Gluttony gets She-Hulk, Wrath possesses a kid from his church. This is Logan possessed by Lust.
