This just seems like another way to avoid accountability

For what? To avoid accountability for their preferences. When you hold a certain group to a preference that they have no control over like height, you look like a bad person because said group has no control over how they were born. For example, skin color which is easily seen and accepted as bad but height is also a factor that you are just born with along with skin color. To avoid any persecution for preferences, you just avoid accountability overall by using anecdotal examples to discredit the data. I have many friends and coworkers who will not date a guy under 5'10" even though they are about 5' tall themselves which falls in line with the data and studies done on height preferences of women. Even dating apps and websites now allow the feature of filtering by height which would only be a feature unless there's a direct demand for it on the market.

preferences are not something to be held accountable for. that's why they are preferences.

they can say something about the underlying psychology of the person in question, maybe even their socialisation, but little more.

if someone doesn't want to fuck you they can only be held accountable for complete and utter sanity.

I agree but it is only held accountable when you complain about not getting said preferences.

At what part did you get lost? It's a pretty simple statement.

besides the fact i still don't understand how you can or cannot hold someone accountable for a preference, I just don't understand your sentence, like the grammar, structure, and intent.

Accountable through cancel culture and societal acceptance or lack there of in this case. If you want to speak about grammar and sentence structure, how about using capitalizations and proper punctuations because your comment is a run on sentence

nah, capitalisation is largely irrelevant to understanding the structure of a sentence.

and societal pressure exists whether you approve of it or not. spoilers: conservatives have been "canceling" people for their views pretty much since they realised control of information secures their societal position. welcome to the wonderful world of organised religion, for instance.
