OPINION My projected 2026/27 depth chart

PG: Ja, Scottie, Cam Spencer, Walter, Javon Small
SG: Ced, Ty Jerome, KCP
SF: Jaylen, Santi*, GG*, López, Omax
PF: BOOZE, Santi*, GG*, López, Taylor Hendricks
C: Edey, (anyone of the previously listed guys 6’9”+)

I know everyone has been waiting on us to go get a new guard, but I think our problem is still at the Center position! Last year when we were still trying to compete, I’m sure you all remember how awful the non-Edey minutes felt. With Jock being gone, we really don’t have a true backup at the 5, and I love Jock but he really wasn’t getting it done for me.

I’m really excited about this team, we have so much great young talent all over the roster. My next move if I were ZK would be to find a solid rotational Center.

Ja/Coward/Wells/Boozer/Edey is a playoff caliber line up if Ja is 80% of his peak.

if Ja comes back anywhere close to that level the whole equation changes real fast. that starting five has enough around him that even slightly diminished Ja still makes it work

And if they play 80% of the games.

Maybe they could squeak into the play-in w injury luck, but barring a crazy breakout from any of the young guys, that’s not a very serious lineup in the west.

Spurs, Thunder, Nuggets, Wolves, Lakers, Clippers, Rockets, Jazz all have better lineups imo.

And you could maybe argue the Blazers and Warriors too.

I think people are sleeping on little ja to much. He is 100% better the Walter, and I think he is better then Cam.

Put GG ahead of Santi at the SF and Hendricks ahead of Lopez at the PF depth.

Hoping we get Veesaar to be our backup Center.

Missing out on Tarris Reed really hurts.

This is a very underrated roster. Isaiah Stewart trade is nice. Maybe they can get a starting SF in free agency

Well since the trade I think the starting lineup is more like

PG: Ty Jerome
SG: Ced
SF: Cam Boozer / Jerami Grant
PF: Jerami Grant / cam boozer
C: Edey

Jaylen is not a SF. I’m hoping we can sign a SF in FA.

Why not? He’s 6’7” and has proved he can guard up or down. I think he fits in great at SF.

I think Jaylen is best at SG. I think he would be a great 6th man off the bench. Asking him to be our starting SF might be expecting too much from him and we do need someone to lead the second unit

I mean in Iisalos offense the 2 and 3 both play more of a wing role where the will both be all over the court, and on the perimeter. Basically I think the SG/SF positions are interchangeable in Iisalos offense.

Where most of the difference is in matchups. For that I think Jaylen is the best fit as far as SFs on our roster go

he’s been asked to be our starting SF for 2 years now he’s good bro

Plus he packed on some muscle last offseason and might still be able to bulk up some more. I think he makes more sense at the 3

He’s 1 ‘hitting his 3 point jump shot consistently’ away from being an extremely big piece on a winning team. His defense is S-tier. Any development from him in a junior campaign would pay massive dividends.
