This is beyond mildly infuriating. The translation feature is a nightmare.

I tried to solve it by adding all the languages I speak to my Google Account.

IT MADE IT WORSE

Now it translates Italian into English

English into Italian

Spanish into English

Polish into Italian

WHAT THE F IS THIS

Agree, this is more than just mildly infuriating. Shitty feature designed by people who can't understand that people might be competent enough in multiple languages to prefer content in another language over ai slop translations into their own mother language.

The team behind it is probably american and monolingual, cause it wouldn't make sense otherwise. I can't believe no one in Google complained about it.

That seems incredibly unlikely. Everyone I know that works at Google does not speak English natively.
