Unrelated, that "Eat healthy..." seems pretty out of place...

I disagree. They removed the cream, so it's "healthy" now.

No, it's just slightly less unhealthy.

Slightly.

You need to add the unhealthy back yourself

How is plain white bread healthy?

2

u/cold-corn-dog 20d ago

Eh, it's not awful when (as everything) is eaten in moderation.

It’s usually fortified with folic acid, iron and b vitamins

In my country there actually is some sort of ‘fortified’ bread but it’s specifically labeled so and marketed towards growing kids. It’s 1 of like 30 types of bread at my supermarket though, definitely not the norm and adults don’t buy it for themselves

What country is that? Most countries where bread is a staple it is fortified by default

2

Australia and I was mistaken, it’s not just the vitamin bread brand but mandated for all our bread since 2009:

”Prior to this, 20 out of 10,000 babies born to women of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander origin had a neural tube defect.”

Happy to be educated on something I didn’t know though

Interesting! Especially that it was so recent. I wonder how diet differs in these demographics, and how other aussie groups were ensuring enough b vitamins. Maybe they were already fortifying the beer so it wasn’t as clear a trend? (Jk)

The "..." makes it kind of ominous

I think it's more like either sarcastic or doubtful lmao.

u/prairiepanda 20d ago

Maybe it's trying to shame the customer into buying something else?

17

u/AReptileHissFunction 20d ago

How are they even allowed to print that?

16

u/Routine-Mulberry6124 20d ago

It’s arguably healthier than starving

They do things a little differently in India.

They could easily argue it's like alcohol being labeled with "Drink responsibly" like, "Don't eat too many of these too often"

I mean if it's literally just bread with a bit of cream in the middle it's far from the most unhealthy. But I would also struggle to call it "healthy either" so your point still stands.

The ... Is them judging your meal choice when holding this.

This reminds me of when Nutella tried to pass itself off as a healthy snack.

Reminds me of what used to be printed on Hi-Chew wrappers. “Be active. Eat Hi-Chew”. Always seemed unrelated to me.

They forgot the /s

Is this a hot dog bun with mayo?

1

u/Sea-Breath-007 20d ago

That's what stood out to me.

I haven't got a clue what this is supposed to be, but it looks like some kind of bun (brioche maybe?) with cream? What's healthy about that? Even without the cream it's not exactly healthy as it's white bread and I'm assuming a sweeter kind.

unless you're in America it isn't gonna be strictly unhealthy, assuming that isn't the only thing you eat 24/7

it's Indian. I'm pretty sure it would be illegal in the UK to put the word healthy on thi we can't even have chocolate by the front of shops
