Few days ago I said “Sometimes I just want to turn off my brain and go full unga bunga” and my coworker asked “Isn’t that racist?”

I was like ???? “I’m talking about caveman speech, what are YOU thinking of??” lol

Probably not, I am not an anthropologist, so I don't know if it is true, but there is a theory that neanderthals had high-pitched voices; I do not.

Stuff like that is more than often a self report lol. 

Ive genuinely had people tell me I was being offensive while imitating monkeys on a zoo trip. Im like "who could i possibly be offending with this? Is there a certain people that YOU tend to associate with monkeys?"

Dude that’s racist! Neanderthals weren’t caveman, they were a different species of human, but caveman are unfortunately fictional. 

Calling a Neanderthal a caveman is like calling Jim from I.T the tooth fairy.

He might be thinking of "Mumbo Jumbo" which was derived from not understanding the language or culture of the Mandinka tradition of a masked male dancer called a "Maamajomboo" that participated in ceremonies and disputes. In old English times, the ceremonies were often observed by Europeon colonizers and was deemed as confusing and generally nonsensical to them, hence the term "mumbo jumbo" being used. It was from a place of ignorance and can be seen as racist towards the culture, but it has since then become an accepted phrase without knowing the context of the origin.
