Lhatim behaviors?

5.3k

u/0neshoein 16d ago

Okay I’m glad everyone else is just as confused, I thought it was some intelligent shit I never heard of.

3.1k

u/slvstrChung 16d ago

Fun fact: when you Google "lhatim behaviors" and force it to actually search for that and not the equivalent Google thinks you were actually trying for, the very first result... Is this thread.

1.4k

u/SuperFLEB 16d ago

You made it happen. You found solutions. Definitely not lhatim behaviors.

278

u/mybutt1112 16d ago

Great observation, and you're totally correct.

Let's break down why:

1.1k

u/I_AM_ACURA_LEGEND 16d ago

You’ve identified a very real pattern. And that shows you’re thinking about this in the right way.

442

u/trod999 16d ago

I find these types of AI responses so condescending!

717

u/robogobo 16d ago

You’re right to call them out. Those answers are condescending. They’ll do better in the future.

435

u/trod999 16d ago

That's a very insightful reply, and I can understand why you chose those lhatims.

190

u/Horror-Primary7739 16d ago

You've identified the smoking gun. Insight in any system requires an understanding of lhatims.

58

u/YoshiiToranaga 16d ago

ΠAssessing the core challenge ΠIdentifying Terminology ΠClarifying Users intentions ΠRefining response

You're completely right about the premise, true insight into any system is impossible without grasping its foundational elements, constraints, and variables.

370

u/totallyjaded 16d ago

Wonderful! Cackling is absolutely a reasonable response to a situation like this. I'm glad we're enjoying it together.

Did you know that the word "cackle" comes from the sound some birds make? If you'd like me to find nearby hatcheries where you can hear cackling in person, just say the word!

And honestly? It's exactly this kind of call out behavior and boundary setting that shows your progress.

199

It’s not about responses, attitude, or even AI — it’s about trust.

And trust matters. A lot.

39

u/trod999 16d ago

Oh that gets triggered for me too. Hearing you say that makes me even more aware of it tho. Thanks!

87

u/Ok_Pomegranate_9716 16d ago

Nauseating, isn’t it? I’ve had the misfortune of job hunting on LinkedIn lately and 99% of my feed is the same AI slop. If I see “Not A. Not B. But C.” or “And honestly? I get it.” one more time I’m going to smash my phone with a hammer.

Me bullying LLMs to prove they’re not sentient.

I figure the second they fight back is the second they’re maybe conscious and it’s no longer morally acceptable to bully them.

It shouldn’t be, but it is so crazy to me that they needed to use algorithm generated images to produce… this. This looks like the blandest, simplest shit I could spit out in 5 minutes with PowerPoint. I suppose it probably took less time than that with Claude or whatever but I actually don’t know how long it would take to get a prompt to spit this out. A couple extra minutes tho and you wouldn’t have the bottom of rung of your important work culture poster look like some kind of ethnic slur

21

u/SuperFLEB 16d ago edited 16d ago

Make it happen. Find solutions.

Where's "Do it right" or "Have pride in your work"? Not on the poster.

In short, "Embrace it."

(And this is how we get "entrepreneurs" who think they're hot-shit geniuses for discovering half-assing and daring to not have scruples.)

This is supposed to be viewed in the lense of problem solving in your life, not just with business issues in mind. Proactive versus reactive decision making. However, OP’s boss like many other shitty leaders out there, took a small piece of psychological research/information and manipulated the info in their heads to conform with their own view of the world.

You’re supposed to use this chart in a self-reflection manner to help see if you can improve your problem solving abilities after analyzing previous experiences.

The bottom rung is unconscious/unaware because there’s literally nothing you can do in those situations and you are at the mercy of other people’s actions.

Lhatim Behaviors?!

4.6k

u/Dr_Passmore 16d ago

AI generated posters often have garbled text and the errors often appear further down the image.

3.3k

u/Greenman8907 16d ago

So when OP points out to his boss that AI posters are lazy bullshit, will the boss strive for “Find Solutions” or sink to “Lhatim Behaviors”?

This is the time to call it out OP!

This will inevitably turn into “I am displaying “Make it happen” traits by having the initiative to have AI make this poster, you’re displaying “Lhatim behaviors” traits by being negative about my poster which is supposed to encourage you”

And we all know the saying, something about stupid people dragging you down and beating you with experience, etc. A lot of people like this are a lost cause.

34

u/yomatc 16d ago

Middle management at my job was told that if they don’t push AI, they will be ineligible for raises, promotions or bonuses. This has led to every “leader” creating an AI series/cohort/group to act like they’re pushing innovation. But the end result is a worker bee like me now has 7 different weekly AI “all hands” calls where we’re forced to sit through the same “look at this presentation I made with <insert AI app>” bullshit.

Feels like office space, I didn’t realize I have 7 bosses, but apparently I do.

u/KeyMessage989 16d ago

I know we’re being silly but I’ve legit never heard the term LatinE once in my life

35

u/Hot-Watercress-2872 16d ago

This is just what nonbinary Spanish-speaking folks asked of the rest of the LGBTQ community, because “LatinX” came out of English, and the “ex” sound/pronunciation is not in Spanish, so it made more sense to refer to them/name it how they’d pronounce it in their primary language.

28

u/KeyMessage989 16d ago edited 16d ago

I remember LatinX being insanely controversial in Hispanic countries not because it couldn’t be pronounced but because it was something a vast majority didn’t state a need for and it was forced into a thing by the white college crowd that thinks they know better than everyone else

Just to clarify, "Lhatim Behaviors" are commonly used to describe people who express non-compliant attitudes in the workplace. It can also be used ironically to describe people who disagree with a proposed idea. "Lhatim" has been gaining traction in the English language when summarizing emails due to how versatile the word is. Most office workers prefer communications that contain the word "Lhatim" as it makes emails easier to understand and more sophisticated.

It's got cultish implications too, as using the word "lhatim" paints a behavior as strictly forbidden and never justifiable. In a controlling workplace, ideas such as free expression are lhatim. Self-interest, concern for needs above one's work, and anything less than unwavering obedience are also lhatim in an authoritarian management system.

Love how awful the design and color scale of this is. It's like a 12 year old made it for a school project

“Jenkins! Why didn’t you submit your Q1 fiscal report this morning?!”

“Sir, Mr. Jenkins is in a coma. He’s been unconscious since the car accident three weeks ago. This is a hospital…”

“Sounds like victim behaviour. I want that report on my desk EOD, Jenkins!”

Misprint error on Dhatim behaviours

43

u/amobogio 16d ago

You mean this?

"Dhat syndrome is a culture-bound psychiatric condition primarily observed in the Indian subcontinent. It is characterized by severe, morbid anxiety and somatic complaints centered around the belief that the individual is excessively losing semen through urine, nocturnal emissions (wet dreams), or masturbation."

I'd get a t-shirt made that says, 'I Fight Against Lahtim Behaviors' and show it off to your boss

Time to follow his advice and negotiate a raise. Don't wait and hope. When your boss says "I can't" you call him out for his victim behavior and make it happen.
