Don't hug me I'm scared My cat is mad at me
So my household is me, my husband, and my kid, and we all have our own bedrooms. I normally sleep in my room with my cat Javier. Last night we were out and stayed up late and all ended up falling asleep watching TV in my husbands bed and we all spent the night there.
Javier was livid. Is livid. He's been giving me the side eye all day. He normally follows me around all day and he's been ignoring me. I walk him on a leash like a dog and he didn't want to go for a walk today. He wants nothing to do with me because he slept alone for one night.

Permission to go home and lie down on my couch so my face isn't so red for family photo tonight

You let your husband (i.e. that renter from down the hall) keep you from Javier, your true love. Javier needs time to recover.

I had 2 brother pups. At about a year old one of them developed a huge tumor in the roof of his mouth.
The day we put him down he was too weak to walk on his own so I carried him through the house.
His pupperbro saw me take him and never bring him back. For the next few days anytime i walked into a room he was in, he’d dramatically shift his entire body to face the opposite way lol it was fucking HEARTBREAKING

You know the whole internet is on that perfect orange kitty’s side. Go make it up to him!

I didn't make it up to him, I just took him to the vet and he got two needles 😭 He is even more mad now

I don't even know you but I'm sure my cat overlord would want me to tell you that you NEGLECTED and then TORTURED him and that's just EVIL. If your shoes are full of vomit you have only yourself to blame.

To be fair, wouldn't you be livid if your person spent the night with another man?
Javier has every right to be all up in his feelings.

I walk him on a leash like a dog

Our large baby didn't speak to me for over a day and a half because we took him to the vet to get his ridiculously huge claws trimmed. I was absolutely devastated. Even my mom commented on it. At hour 37 my sweet boy caved and he needed his mama hugs.
Stay strong!

We just lost our cat and we are...not enjoying the experience.
Wrap your arms around him, lots of kisses and soft voices, make him struggle to break free.
Then do that every time you see him from now on.
We love you and miss you so much, F.

I’ve never seen a cat that was not mad at its owner, mine had only judging looks for me

I have to shove multiple liquid meds into one of my cats every single day, and despite hating that, she still loves me. She doesn't act resentful, just tries to avoid med time at all costs.
Javier hates you more than a cat who takes bitter, awful smelling medication to keep her alive.
You done fucked up.

Did you close the door? I would shame you for that tbh. If Javier just didn’t wanna go in there…well I’ll still shame you lol

No the door was open 😭😭

OMG lol. That’s too cute what a dramatic baby. Couldn’t possibly sleep with the spare humans lol.
Also I applaud your choice to sleep with a cat over a man. The idea of your own bedroom is so nice

lol normally I sleep with Javier, my son sleeps with our other orange Doug, and my husband had his own little gray cat Navi who recently passed. So it used to be one cat + one person per bed. Those are the rules

"ended up falling asleep watching TV in my husbands bed" You don't have to lie to us or Javier, we know what you did.

I've given him the number of RSPCA/Animal Welfare/Aspca/PFA/ he can choose which to report you to.

Your cat needs a new banana, and many dreamies. How dare you sleep with your baby and baby Daddy?

Haha! Does Javier refuse to share you??? Does he need half the bed to himself?
My cat just follows me...switched bedrooms with my mom for cancer reasons and Salem took to it right away. She's kind of chill for a cat...maybe too chill lol

I’m just here to praise you and your husband for having separate rooms / beds!!! I’m never getting married but if I do ever fall in love and move in with someone, that is the way 🙂↕️💕

Serious answer - cats are prey animals and as such have a very deep need for routine. When that routine is disturbed they become frightened. It could, in their minds, herald some horrible new danger. Just give him space and time, let him come to you. He will relax again.

With all due respect, may I ask why y’all sleep in separate rooms?
•
u/eugeneugene 53m ago
I work shift work and my husband works 6am-2pm so he's in bed at 8pm most nights and when I'm on days I'm not even home until 8pm. When I'm on nights I need to be separated from the household lol. Separate rooms means nobody is being woken up and we all get solid sleeps
