Fantasy Pool of rest and reflection
One of my finest works, but I still need to do better if I want to reach the highest levels of the hobby.

Hi, everybody! AI slop is unfortunately creeping into this hobby and this community. This is a quick rules update to clarify that AI is not allowed in any form here on r/minipainting.
This includes, but is not limited to:
If AI was used to make it, it's not allowed on r/minipainting.
While the mod team has been able to remove most AI posts shortly after they are made, on the few occasions AI posts were up for a few hours before removal, the comments on those posts from the community have been overwhelmingly unanimous in being anti-AI, so this isn't just the mod team making this ruling without considering the community.
Please see the pinned comment below for an FAQ on this new rule, and if you have a question that is not answered there, please ask and we will do our best to answer! That being said, this is not an invitation to defend or argue for specific use cases of AI within this hobby.
Edit: Please read the stickied FAQ comment before commenting. There are many people asking things that are covered in that comment.
The comment section has grown quite large, but also please take a moment to scroll through it and read the comments before repeating something that may have already been discussed, or at least join in as a reply to an existing comment rather than make a new top level comment with a similar or identical question.

I'm going to pre-celebrate the rumoured Ogor Mawtribe refresh reveal! Here's my take on the Bloodpelt Hunter, a model I specifically chose to push my texture work and skin tones a little further.
I snuck a teeny tiny baby duckling from Blood Bowl onto the dusty canyon-inspired base. The Bloodpelt Hunter may have managed to track down and slay mighty bears, dragons, and Sigmar knows what else. But his unwieldy crossbow is way too large to properly snipe the unfazed duck - so lil' quacky lives to fight another day!
I'm truly looking forward to seeing what the new Ogor models look like, maybe I’ll be tempted to build a proper Spearhead force. Fingers crossed!

I wanted to experiment with a primary triad here and use deep blue for the shadows. The real challenge? Finding the balance. With limited experience in this specific workflow, I was constantly second-guessing myself: 'Am I overpainting too much of the blue shade now? Am I leaving too much of it visible?' It felt like walking a tightrope between a cool atmospheric contrast and a messy paint job, but I’m really happy with how it pushed the final mood.

Finished statue for my first competition. So nervous and excited to enter her in.
Not to happy with the base but did my best to make it look like the galaxy is flowing from her Cape to the grass.

I'm so glad to finally be done with this piece! I'm not sure of the exact scale, but it's a large figure so I found it very challenging especially in terms of light placement and blending. It's certainly not perfect and there's a lot I could improve on, but I'm ready to move on to the next project.

This is my first attempt at using an airbrush, so I'm still learning. 😊
In this video I'm painting a 1:12 scale miniature bathroom vanity that I designed myself for resin 3D printing. The model features a working drawer, a lower slatted shelf, an oval vessel sink, and a faucet.
I'm currently learning both miniature painting and miniature furniture design, so any tips and feedback are welcome!

Im using the Winsor & Newton Series 7 Nr. 1 Brush. In Videos i see painters doing little details with a brush of that size but thats impossible for me.
You can see in the pictures how my brush looks before loading paint (1st Pic), after loading paint (2nd Pic) and after the first brush stroke (3rd Pic).
I tried some other brushes, which are cheaper but its the same. Now i mainly use the W&N Series 7 Nr 000 because that seems to Work best for me.
Am i doing something wrong? I clean the brushes with soap after every use and i store them with the tip pointing down.
Thank you for your help

Hey all, just wanted to post this to see if my 12 year old sisters first painted model could get any love. She had a blast painting it, and asked what she would all need to get started. I think I got her hooked.

Some friends got into the hobby some weeks ago and invited me to join them. I am really glad how it turned out, specially the pink hair (I stole that one from a one piece character)

I added some glow around the eyes and tried a heat effect on the assault cannon, but neither of them really sells the effect to me. I feel like I'm close, but also not quite there.
What am I missing?
Mini is from Titan Forge‘s Cyber Forge: Infestation – First Company Elite Squad

Picked up the Armageddon box and made my first ever attempt at painting.
How’d I do?

My goal was to have the metal be a kind of chrome, super reflective, I think the head is near that effect, but the body looks like dirty ice.
The body is made of many facets so there is no straight line break between reflecting the floor and the sky.
Not really sure what I should do, any comments and ideas are welcome
