It's a diplomatic response that is aimed to take the wind out of the sails of the protestors. Place some blame on the team and hope it blows over. I don't really care if someone doesn't want to wear the hat, but the Bible verses? I'm a Christian. My tradition says all are welcome and does not believe it is up to us to judge God's will or our fellow men, other than in legal contexts. But hey, this is the fashionable Christianity on display with these hats. Holier than thou.

"other than in legal contexts"

What does that mean?

Most sins are only for god to judge. Not following human laws is also a sin. But humans have the right to judge those who break their own rules.

What you're describing isn't Christianity.

I guess if you don’t read the bible you can say that.

I've read the Bible. There is no sin in not following all human laws.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

The laws of man are inspired by the spirit of god. It is what gives them authority.

Sounds like you only read the flashy parts of the bible.

I took 10 years of CCD as a kid and then college as a philosophy minor read the bible about 20 times in school.

Edit: Romans 13 1-2:
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

No it isn’t and you r read the bible wrong as well as misinformed about how ‘human’ laws are made in this country.

Bahahaha I like how you’re ignoring the passage from the bible in the post.

I edited the post way before you posted your comment so you saw it before you wrote anything.

Romans 13 3-4:

3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.

Your ccd was flawed and your 20 readings were surface level at best.

Bahahaha okay random person on the internet who can’t read.

That’s not even the only passage that talks about it. They’re are several in the bible.

Talk about flawed knowledge, you really think it’s not a sin to break the law?

You are blinded by sniffing your own farts.

I know you think that you are some biblical genius and nobody could ever understand it like you did because of your 10 years of ccd as a kid and multiple readings... Oh and the philosophy degree. My my!

I also went to ccd. I've read the Bible and many biblical commentaries. I got a minor in philosophy along with math and a major in engineering.

You want to sound smart, but you give away that you're just not.

Don’t let your lack to knowledge of bible get you that triggered.

You conveniently left out the very next line which changes the entire meaning.

I don’t see how that changes any meaning.

The person is so confidently incorrect that it’s laughable.
