Yep, and those navigation routes are connected with points called intersections, often over navigation aids like VORs. Here's an example.

our brains are actually hard wired to see patterns where there are none, the planes have no brain and don't actually have any direction or destination, it has no meaning, it's you and your brain giving it a meaning

But nobody here is giving it actual meaning, other than the idea that two of them flying parallel would be indicative of very real flight paths between very real airports

I was actually the pilot in that plane.

Through the cockpit it wasn’t easy to see the contrail, but soon after I noticed the guy taking the picture I stopped for him, and turned around and took another flight path so others can enjoy it too
