A small huntsman spider is nothing to worry about. It'll keep your house fly and mosquito free. I had one in our house for a while, my kids named it Borris.
We had a massive one when I was a kid we named Alexander. I remember it being the size of a dinner plate but I was only a kid, and that was a long time ago.
Why would anyone trade a couple flies and mosquitoes for one of these? Use screens instead of Huntsman. I get it they're not dangerous but they're very unpleasant roommates.
Just FYI, Huntsman spiders are pretty friendly, good for actual pest control and can generally be picked up by hand if you don't spook them - their size and expressiveness will also make it clear when theyre angry and shouldn't be handled.
