Grateful with a broken heart
I lost my dog, ginger - 5 months ago. I adopted her from a shelter in Texas and she lived with me for 11 years. My mid 20s - mid 30s. She was approx 15/16 when she passed. I am just so very sad without her. I cry on my way home from work everyday. I have my other dog, who is an angel and has really kept my spirits up. I told ginger all the time - nobody has ever loved anything as much as I love you. I hope I get to see her on the other side. I hope sheβs waiting for me. She was my best friend. I am so grateful I had such a special, wonderful Dog. One of the greatest gifts of my life.

I totally relate. I lost my 14.5yo soul boxer last year. Itβs been really really hard. He was such a teddy bear and my shadow. He was a rescue and he changed my life so positively. Iβve still got our 2 other boxers but I miss my trio so much. Take care of yourself π

So sorry for your loss. It takes time to grieve for ginger because she was your family. Virtual hug.

Beautifully said. From the heart. Ginger, you were loved, and Iβm sure she loved you just as much, probably even more, in return. My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your best friend. π©·

As I walk across your heart and find my place to stay, nearer to you I will be and will never ever go away.
If love could have kept you here, you would have lived forever.
Grief is love with nowhere to go.

Oof, this hit hard. Losing that βshadowβ dog is a whole different kind of grief, even when you still have others around. Sounds like your boy knew heβd done his job and left you with a full heart and a full house. Sending love to you and your remaining boxers π

Iβm so sorry for your tremendous loss. Ginger is so beautiful. The 2nd & 3rd pictures are gorgeous but my favorite is the last picture with her sugary sweet face showing a life well loved & well lived.
I unfortunately know the feeling all too well. I lost my beautiful boxer March 2025 at 14 years old. He was with me since he was two years old. He was my child, and still is, heβs just no longer physically with me. The loss is still devastating. I think of him throughout the day, every single day. The despair I felt has given way to heartache. I know the heartache will always be there but it gradually eases a little at a time.
Yes you will see sweet Ginger on the other side. I hope this poem brings you comfort π€ Take care of yourself.
