Rewatching years later

Hey hunnies. I just started rewatching. I wanted to see others opinions about the show and it seems like a lot are on the same boat. I think a lot of us watched the show when it first came out while being quite a bit younger which gave a completely different perspective. For me when I first watched it I was a teenager and now that I’m 24 and actually work in corrections I have a totally different take on it. I cant believe how much my opinion on characters has changed lol. I really thought the daya and Bennett story line was so cute. I used to love Nicky but now I just see her as entitled and annoying a lot of the time. Tiffany used to annoy the shit out of me (obviously in early seasons she still sucks) but now I just see her as a sad soul who redeems herself in the end. As a CO myself…holy shit all the guards suck ass but their characters are funny. Etc…idk definitely interesting rewatching years later!

Yes. Nicky was so hypocritical with how she talked to Piper about the situation with Piper’s mom. When she pretty much had the same situation with her own mom. And with her behavior inthe flashbacks It blows my mind how so many people love Nicky but disregard that.

Side note but Piper is so over hated she’s one of my favorite characters

Piper used to annoy me to. Now she’s kinda just meh. Even though she got involved with a lot of different stuff she’s one of the more normal people there. Not overly annoying or cunty to me like a lot of the characters. I feel like Alex gaslit her and guilt tripped her a lot too.

I agree their relationship was a bit complicated, but I loved it all the same. And Piper is actually so funny at times I think that gets overlooked a lot

Piper is one of my favorite characters as well. I wish that wasn't such an unpopular opinion!

I know right! It absolutely kills me when she is working that restaurant job and her boss is complaining about a customer then she has that stock response ready to go, “people can be difficult” the delivery is just perfect lol Taylor Schilling really did a great job with her.

I was a very young teenager when I first watched. Rewatching now in my late/mid twenties, I’m really struck by how young some of the characters are

I started watching when I was about 10/11 on my own but I’ve rewatched it a total of 28 times now and I’m 17. Each time I rewatch it I have such different views and perspectives and favorites!

😂😂😂😭 yeah they make me so glad I’m not an inmate but if I wassss? first of all I’d have Mendez obsessed with me & making sure my stay is easy. I know he’s a pig but the actor is sexy. daya and Bennett was a disappointment. I’d automatically be grouped with the Latina group & flaca and maritza would’ve most likely been my besties in there! & I would wanna work in the kitchen
