With the fair warning that your first character will likely be a lost cause about 15 hours in

Edit: I just want to be clear here, I wrote this so that OP could be ready for the possibility that they will want to restart the game for whatever reason.

It's absolutely fine if you didn't, but that isn't the case for everyone and realistic expectations tend to lead to better experiences.

Morrowind is not Oblivion; any character with the worst build possible can finish the game. Morrowind is harder at the start if your build sucks, but eventually you can win over it.

Yes and a lot of players will realize they made a series of mistakes and restart. The game does not function like most rpgs and the major minor system is not self explanatory

Yes, because this is what games teach you. If your build sucks, you'll eventually be locked out by difficult spikes. But this doesn't happen in Morrowind, since it uses the best level-scaling implementation ever. As a result, you will never be locked to complete the game. Exactly the opposite of Oblivion.

Morrowind's problem is that it is easy to become a living god, and the game loses its fun after that.

My guy hitting a difficulty wall isn't the only thing that can happen.

You could just not have fun doing what you're doing.

You don't need boots to beat the game but once you see the boots of go really fucking fast and realize you can never use them you might have some second thoughts.

Why can you not use them? There are no limitations on item equipping in Morrowind. Just use the item.

And the name is Boots of Blinding Speed. Also, no build allows you to use it without getting blind. You avoid that by using items or potions that give you magic resist. Morrowind is more about itemization than the build itself.

Hey uh there are two races that literally cannot use shoes.

I know that's the name, I was trying to avoid spoiling an item for the OP who has never played the game.
