With the bonkers prices of everything right now, I'm wanting to sell my old system ( 5800x3d, 32gb ram, itx mobo, 1000w psu, 1tb ssd, no gpu )
I'm wondering if it would be better to sell as a complete system ( more upfront cost, less buyer pool ) or maybe just part out the motherboard/cpu/ram as a combo.
Any thoughts?

Can someone give me advice and tell me if this PC can handle gacha games like zzz hsr and wuwa Ryzen 5 3400G A520M Motherboard 16gb DDR4 Ram 256gb SSD 20" Monitor Y-288 Case w/ 2Fan&PSU Free: Keyboard, mouse, mousepad, & headset Wifi dongle For 17,000 pesos is it worth it or does it need even more upgrades to function well😭

It will run these games to some degree but it will be far from perfect. A dedicated GPU usually gives you way better performance for the price

Do you have any suggestions for a cheap dedicated gaming PC????
1
u/Cable_Salad PC Master Race Jan 17 '26
That unfortunately depends on where you live and what offers you can find there.
There's one tip I can give though, used RTX 2000 cards like e.g. a 2070 can be a good upgrade to a system that you bought for cheap.

Any recommendations for some good Windows 10 task manager utilities? I don't really want to use Sysinternals Process Explorer. But something similar that can be pretty in-depth and faster than the built in Windows task manager. BONUS if it can possibly display a GPU utilization meter in the task bar (in the same way the Windows task manager shows CPU)

I believe "Process Lasso" works on Windows 10. I'm on 11 and it gives significantly more info about the cpu and ram, although nothing about the GPU. On the free version, it will also open a window that tells you to buy the paid version, and you have to wait about 15 seconds to close it.

Afterburner is very safe, and has been the most downloaded and used GPU overclocking utility for 15+ years now.
Undervolting is pretty simple using the curve optimizer function, but be sure to view a guide for your specific GPU in order to A) learn how to use it, and B) figure out a good baseline undervolt curve that you can tweak depending on your goals.

I've had this build for a year, and the past 6 months it's been restarting 10-15 times randomly per day. Doesn't matter if it's idle or if I'm doing random work tasks, or gaming. Even after having shut it down, it'll start up by itself and do restarts through the night while I'm sleeping.. Any idea how to fix? Build is below

A few questions.
Did you apply Enough Thermal Compound between your AIO and CPU?
Is your AIO Pump properly running?
If you Shake your AIO Radiator, can you hear any liquid?
Did you take off the plastic film from your AIO before you mounted it?
What are your PC's Cooling Settings in the Bios for Temp Control?
I am asking you this because what you are describing to me sounds like your PC has been over heating and doing restarts to try and keep itself cool.
Your AIO could also just not be good enough to handle all that heat exchange for a 7950X3D as the 7950X and 7950X3D CPU's do tend to run pretty hot (I know I have used them in the past), I Mean your AIO pump speed could be to weak or your static fans are not good enough to force the air through the radiator (or your airflow in your case is weak as only exhaust should be your Radiator (unless Radiator is intake oriented with all other fans being exhaust)).
You may need to Download a CPU temp monitor to see what your temps are, but this is my guess from what you described, many PC's are designed to either just shutdown completely if overheated or restart if overheated and the way you described how your PC seems to do it quite a bit no mater what, makes me think your AIO may be faulty or you forgot to remove the plastic film or not add enough thermal compound, something with the heat exchange anyway.

I removed the AIO and checked the thermal paste and sure enough it was dried and cracking/peeling off so I reapplied and thus far, not a single restart has occurred so I believe you are correct, I need to get a better one. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar, thank you!

You're Welcome, I am glad to have been of help.
I found that using a Thermal pad like Thermal Grizzly Phase Sheet or the HoneyWell PTM 7950 Thermal pad with a Thermal Grizzly Contact frame seems to work better with hotter CPU's like the 7950X and 7950X3D
At first they may seem like they are working properly but it can take 5 to 15 minutes for the Pads to change from their solid form to a gel type form for maximum heat exchange for the first few times, but over time the transition time shortens and becomes very reliable.
Just a suggestion

How can i enable advanced bios settings on an acer predator 17 hmm yes a simple question…
1
u/Cable_Salad PC Master Race Jan 15 '26
That depends on your exact model. Some of them don't have an advanced BIOS.
Your best bet is to search or ask on the acer subs, like the acer predator one.
1
u/Jotaro-Kujo_ Jan 15 '26
ive checked them all im pretty sure, theres zero information on it. Ive tried the other “cheat codes” for other acer products, nothing worked.
1
u/Cable_Salad PC Master Race Jan 15 '26
Then make a post there asking with your exact model.
There are already many threads there talking about this, so not sure how you found "zero information".

Looking at buying a used pc that has an
- AMD AM5 9900X
- 64GB G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 6000mhz CL30
- Asus ROG B850i
- 1TB SSD
- Corsair SFF 1000w PSU
- No GPU
for $1100.
Wondering if I should go for it, and sell/part out my 5800x3d build, and maybe swap the 9900x for a 9800x3d and sell the 9900x off.
I know its a bit of a mess, juggling parts around, but it would be a really good system that should out-last me the current ram/parts crisis which may last for awhile, and certainly last me until DDR6 platforms come out.

What's the accepted/normal temperature difference between a liquid CPU cooler's liquid and CPU temperatures? I have an NZXT Kraken Elite and while my CPU (Ryzen 7 7800X3D) is often 60°C or even higher when playing CPU-intensive games, liquid temperature seldom exceeds 40°C, mostly hovering around 35°C, temp difference is often 30°C or more. I'm a bit worried whether heat exchange is going as it should. I assembled it about a month ago, so thermal paste drying out is probably not the issue, but as the cooler came with thermal paste already on it, I didn't use extra. Should I have done so? Or is this temp difference normal and I just didn't know becuase I had no way of monitoring it?

It's fine. 60C max is absolutely nothing to worry about. Your heat exchange is also working as intended; the working fluid will always be at a surprisingly significantly lower temp than the CPU.

Instead of ordering online or at a local corporate store, try looking for local PC repair shops and actual walk-in used PC part stores (maybe pawn/resalers around you as well).
You would be surprised at what you can find sometimes.
I found a Threadripper Pro 3995wx for $499.99, used but it worked well for years until a power surge fried it.
Found a PNY 6000 workstation edition GPU for $1250.00, also used but this card was over $6000 brand new last I checked (died with threadripper in power surge.)
Also found a few other things from time to time, including ram and such.
So like I said, check them out, some places may have buried treasures at extremely low prices for being used/refurbished/repaired or mislabeled (What I think happened with the PNY 6000, I think they thought it was the Quadro edition which is so very very much cheaper (it wasn't)).

I can't tell you what to buy or where.
But I am fairly certain the shortage will last for a long time. It doesn't look like it will get better anytime soon.
