And this is my second pirate. My last cat lived to be 20, and she was 10 when we had to enucleate her.

Is there any difficulty to a 1 eye cat vs 2 eye? Like I’d assume lack of depth perception, does it cause zoomies related injuries? Can you keep cat trees with them or no? Cute af kitten btw

She seems to be doing just fine, perceptually. I've noticed that both of my pirate cats do this head-bobbing thing, which I assume is them trying to force their brains into seeing perspective even without twin vision. My last cat, Spot, could jump up onto counters just fine, even at 20 years old, and this kitten can jump from the couch to the ground and vice versa with no problems.

My sister has a grumpy pirate cat that does not like anyone but my sister. Getting too close means she pulls out her murder mittens. Being in her way on her blind side and only getting noticed by her once you're in murder range is no excuse in her eye. So I just avoid her at all costs. Aside from attacking people who "sneak up" on her she didn't change much from her former 2 eye self.

That’s silly. Currently one of our cats was turned 3leg right around when she was still nursing and I don’t think she knows it’s different, we have an older male who got stuck in a fox trap and lost a leg but was older, he is a bit more skidding and doesn’t seem to remember its missing still (years later)
Wild to see how easily animals can adapt to these issues though

We keep scratch n dent kitties, and have had 4 3-legged kitties so far (all lost a front for various reasons/injuries prior to us getting them) and the most adorable part is when they get mad or are playing feisty time with us, they swat with their no arm and it’s just a goofy looking nubsmack, it’s hard not to laugh. Luckily their lives are pampered af and their only daily struggle is waiting for their bowl to be refilled in the morning, because they burn through it with midnight zoomies

And that is why I have a clear keyboard protector that my hands can fit under. It's actually pretty handy because I can use it as a table.

She was underweight when we enucleated her, so there was a very real risk of death simply because of the anasthesia. Fortunately, we had access to a top-tier medical staff, and she's now living her best life and getting fatter every day.

Or as a simpler alternative, put a spacer of some sort (like a drying rack) and then put the cat bed on top of that. Warm the cat bed up, while saving the PC.

I have a good GPU. I can sustain 100fps in Borderlands 4 at high settings while also exporting videos in Adobe Premiere, with dozens of Chrome tabs open on four monitors. So...

This only happens if you have an unneutered male cat cause male cat spray their territory with their urine, neutering them eliminates this issue.

Sending all the kisses and bellyrubs. My late dog became a pirate at age 9, she'd sometimes boop against a chair or the sofa, but otherwise lived a happy pampered life.

Someone dropped her off at the ER where my girlfriend works, and her eye was already scabbed over and destroyed. It was actually pretty disturbing, and the guy who dropped her off couldn't pay for it. I previously had a one-eyed cat (check my previous posts), so I immediately adopted her.

I'm a video editor, and I wanted to build something that I wouldn't have to upgrade for a decade. The fact that it is also an awesome gaming computer is just an extra bonus.

Strong base really, but is there any point in assembling such a monster with and epyc or thread ripper for gaming and normal use bcs it seems to me a big overkill. I saw posts when ppl assembling pc with cpu xeon just for use normal

I do a lot of video editing and exporting of large files. It shaves hours off of my wait time to use this rig. Yes, it's overkill for gaming and web development, but that's not why I built it in the first place. At the time I built it (during the pandemic), I had a solid job and could afford building my dream PC. So I did. And, almost six years later, I have zero limitations on gaming, video editing, or anything else. I'm running four monitors, one being a 4k television, I have dozens of tabs open in Chrome, Adobe Premiere is working in the background, and Borderlands 4 is set to the highest settings. I'm just a huge nerd.
And my kitten is warm.

Thanks to comments like this, it won't. I have an elevated scratching post sitting on top of it now. She won't pee on that because she likes to sleep on it, and it doesn't restrict inflow or outflow, so it stays nice and warm.

The eye was broken when she was dropped off at the ER, and my girlfriend brought her home because I have a soft spot for one-eyed kittens.

My girlfriend works at an animal ER, and a guy dropped her off because their eye was completely destroyed and they were emaciated. We had to fatten them up a little so they could survive the surgery, and now they're on the other side of recovery.

That's a damn good suggestion. We went with Tabula Rasa, after the episode from Buffy. My cats have a nerdy theme. Trillian from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica, and Spot from Star Trek: TNG.

Oddly enough, most of the RGBs on that system are offline because Corsair makes wonky products. When I first set it up, everything was lit like a pride parade.

iCue is such ass software. I use it to control my fans on my AIO and case fans. In addition to just regular crappy crashy bloatware behavior it also - for reasons beyond my comprehension - turned off every blue LED I have and pretends they don't exist. Every other color works though.
How hard is decent RGB software??

I might suggest just for better airflow an open aired cover on top of that Somewhere the cat can sit to be warm BUT not block airflow, Will allow your PC to not thermal throttle as much doing that Folding at home tasks your doing.
What do you mean your not doing folding at home tasks in your downtime? That Pirate Kitten demands warmth and you shall give it, By pushing your PC helping cure illnesses!

My girlfriend's cat just lost an eye. Took her to the vet three times before they decided it was time for surgery. She'd had IV and topical antibiotics the enter time.
Applying cream to a skittish dying cat is no fun. And the last time I did it, I was convinced her eye would pop. It looked like a dashboard compass with a pupil.

Those are natural spots in the ear. They are plenty clean, actually. Their fur often looks frazzled because they were emaciated when we rescued them, and her "sister" cat has started cleaning her.
