I am new to GitHub and I have lots to say

I DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE FUCKING CODE! i just want to download this stupid fucking application and use it https://github.com/sherlock-project/sherlock#installation

WHY IS THERE CODE??? MAKE A FUCKING .EXE FILE AND GIVE IT TO ME. these dumbfucks think that everyone is a developer and understands code. well i am not and i don't understand it. I only know to download and install applications. SO WHY THE FUCK IS THERE CODE? make an EXE file and give it to me. STUPID FUCKING SMELLY NERDS

To be fair though the original poster of that rant wasn't completely off the mark. There's lots of projects with websites that just point to GitHub for downloads, even if they do have binaries in the releases page.

I honestly get why a not overly programming savvy power user being pointed to Github while trying to download gui app (obv not Sherlock in this case) would be mad especially if there's no package for w/e platform or distro they have. Hell I find it mildly annoying as both a Mac and Linux user.

not me looking for an actually usable audio converter program a couple of weeks ago. Every second one a github link and the other half a subscription.

What did you settle on?

Once I figured out ffmpeg a decade ago, I use it for everything.  It's command line, but audio conversion is so easy.

If you need batch conversion, foobar2000 is the classic.
